Slingo Bingo has launched as an exclusive new 75 ball bingo game at Entain brands such as Foxy, Gala, Coral and Ladbrokes. By now everyone should be familiar with the Slingo game. It brings together slots and bingo in an interesting way and has spawned multiple variants often themed on popular slot titles such as Starburst, Money Train and Rainbow Riches. These are all single player games but surprisingly there hasn't been a multi-player version of the game. In the dim and distant past however there was a game called Slingo Boom but sadly this didn't catch on and was sadly shelved. Slingo Bingo is the first multi-player game since Boom but will it last longer and appeal to players?

How To Play Slingo Bingo
Slingo Bingo is graphically a very basic looking game. The room is bathed in lovely red and gold colours though and to be fair it doesn't need too many bells and whistles. However before you even get inside the room you first need to select a wager. There are four options, 25p, 50p, 75p and £1 and the more you wager the bigger the prizes on offer. Once you've selected your wager you enter the room which comprises of one 5x5 bingo card showing 25 numbers of between 1 and 75. A one row, five column reel features at the top of the page. Players who are familiar with the Slingo mechanic will instantly recognise the grid and reel that form the basis of every version of the game. The aim of the game is to create lines on your Slingo Bingo card. The reel at the top of the page spins and generates five numbers on each turn. Any numbers on the reels that match on your game card will be marked off. Unlike in other Slingo games there are no wilds, super wilds, extra spins or jokers in play. In the base game the reels will spin just eight times giving you limited options with respect to creating many wining lines.
Slingo Bingo Winners
During the spins the game informs you of how many other players have created winning lines. It also tells you if you've not created any lines which sometimes feels like adding insult to injury. At the end of the base game the prize pot will be awarded to those players who have created winning lines. The pot is distributed as a percentage so those players with the most Slingos will naturally take the biggest share of the pot. Regular players of Slingo will know that one element of the game mechanic is the option to wager on and enjoy extra spins. That element is incorporated into Slingo Bingo albeit in a limited way. At the end of the base game you can purchase two extra spins for 20p - the same price regardless of your initial stake - for the chance to share a prize pot of £5. A little bit of strategy does come into play here as if you've had a stinker of a base game then it's best not to take the gamble. However if you're close to completing a line or two then maybe it's worth trying the extra spins.
Our Verdict
Slingo has been part of the online gambling landscape for ages and it seems strange to think that a multiplayer version hasn't been available for such a long time. Sadly we can't remember how Slingo Boom worked but we think that it played like a normal bingo game in that numbers were called until a player reached a full house. In this new game there's opportunity for every player to win plus the games are short and sweet. This format works very well and it's useful to know how your fellow roomies are getting on. The opportunity to spin on is well integrated too and we love the fact that it's a fixed price of just 20p. The great thing about Slingo Bingo is that it now paves the way for themed versions - so for example players could win spins on featured slots or perhaps plays on bonus games depending on how many lines they've achieved. Kudos to Entain for launching the game and we look forward to seeing how it's received by players. We think it'll do pretty well.
