Where Can I Play Free Bingo With No Deposit?
Rewind a few years and pretty much every bingo brand would offer new players a no deposit bonus. But what is a no deposit bonus? On registration a player would be given "free money" that typically ranged from £5 up to £100 depending on the site and platform. This money was usually paid as a bonus although winnings could sometimes be withdrawn without the player making a deposit. The No Deposit Bonus acted as a huge incentive to get players to sign up and was responsible - in our view - for the early popularity of online bingo. They allowed players to try before they buy which is essential for finding the right site to pay and play. Sadly the days of this kind of bonus have come to an end. In part this was due to taxation changes, clearer understanding of wagering terms and bonus abuse (in short it started to cost platforms too much money). Is it possible to still find no deposit bingo sites? The answer is yes but it's most certainly not as widespread. In place of no deposit bonuses came free bingo games, usually in Newbie Rooms and Free Spins but these are now few and far between.

Can I Keep My Winnings?
It'd be great if you could just sign up for a no deposit bonus and then withdraw any winnings! However, the reality is that it's highly unlikely any bingo site will allow you to do this. Most wins from no deposit offers or in free rooms are often paid out as a bonus. A number of slots and bingo sites do run daily free games that can be played without a deposit and where you can win cash prizes. However in order to make a withdrawal you may have to deposit. Basically the rule of thumb is that no bingo site gives away cash for nothing.
Alternatives To No Deposit Bonuses
If you're a "try before you buy" kind of bingo player then there are still ways and means of joining a bingo site and giving it's features the once over. Some Broadway Gaming/Dragonfish sites offer access to a free game room although you'll be playing for small bonuses. Terms and conditions will apply. The thing is though that once you've tried one of these brands then you've pretty much seen them all. Therefore the only reason to move to another on the same platform is to play in the same newbie rooms for nothing. Other options, as we've alluded to above, are daily free to play games. From some of these you may be able to win tickets to play in selected bingo games.
What Are Wagering Terms?
Free bingo money is pretty much a thing of the past. If you receive a bonus - whether a no deposit or after playing free spins - then it may well carry a wagering term. This is the amount you need to spend in real cash before you can withdraw winnings from the site. Wagering terms apply to the lump sum bonuses, wins from bonus spins, wins from free games and even wins as prizes. The amount will vary from site to site and offer to offer. The best advice is always check the small print!!
No Wagering Required
Around the same time that no deposit bingo bonuses went south, many operators became "no wagering" sites. Some like PlayOJO were successful whilst others like Bgo.com and many Broadway Gaming/Dragonfish brands soon resorted back to wagering deals. Today a lot of the bookmakers with bingo channels - such as Paddy Power, Sky, Betfair, William Hill and Bet365 run with no wagering terms. What this means is that all wins are paid out as cash. Whilst this offers a lot more clarity for players it does also mean that bonuses are usually offered as free bingo tickets or free spins.
No Deposit Bingo Trivia
Did you know that Game Village were the first bingo site to offer players £20+ of free bingo with no deposit - they increased that to £30 but in 2013, after a takeover, dropped it back to a more standard tenner before doing away with it altogether. The Cyberbingo Network used to offer free trials of up to £100 to new players, but this network closed in 2011, perhaps highlighting the folly of these kind of promotions in a desperate attempt to encourage players to sign up. Costa Bingo were the last Dragonfish powered brand to offer a no deposit bonus. Their £5 offer to new players was dropped when Ignite sold the brand to 888. Tombola were perhaps the last major brand to offer a no deposit bonus via their Free Fivers promotion. However even that has now changed with the bonus no longer available to players who have not deposited and played first.
