Play Halloween & Jigsaw Bingo At Tombola

This Offer Has Expired.

To celebrate Halloween month, Tombola have launched two spooktacular games. On the bingo side you'll find a brand new 45 ball game called Jigsaw whilst over in Arcade there's a brand new scratchcard simply called Halloween. Now we pretty much guessed these two games but one thing we didn't get right was that Jigsaw would replace the summer special of Paint By Numbers Bingo. That particular game was due to close recently but by popular demand has remained in-situ. Whether it stays for the rest of the month or a launch of a winter bingo game - perhaps the return of Winter Spotlight - remains to be seen. But back to Halloween and the two new games. Are they any good?

Jigsaw Bingo At Tombola

Jigsaw Bingo is another clever variant on the 45 ball bingo game from the developers at Tombola. It is a multistake game that costs 10p, 25p, 50p, £1 or £2 to play. Given that it's a Halloween special we do think that Tombola missed a trick with the 'stake' element of proceedings. We're thinking that the vampires and dracula overlooking the wagering area would have been quite cool. You do get a scary "welcome to Jigsaw" announcement once you've selected your wagering and there's some spooky music to welcome you too. Unlike previous 45 ball games there are no gimmicks to keep you amused whilst waiting for eyes down. The bingo ticket is - as you may have already guessed - is a Jigsaw. There are 15 pieces each with a different number. Each game has two main prizes - four corners and the full house. Jigsaw pieces appear at the bottom of the screen and if the numbers/pieces match those on the card then they're marked off. A spooky scene is created as your card fills up. In addition to the main prizes a jackpot can be won if all 15 jigsaw pieces are matched within 28 calls.

Interactive Bingo Cards

Although there's no fun things to do at the start of Jigsaw there are some little animations to watch out for during gameplay. For example bats fly out of the castle and the pumpkins move in the left hand corner. This is fun for at least one game and then it's not worth playing with again. The rest of the game is full of other Halloween elements including the winners being announced on a ghost shaped background and a Dracula style number caller. Now we've been a big fan of all of Tombola's seasonal games and this one is perfect for Halloween. However it's not one we're going to be sinking our teeth into. The simple fact is that all we have is another 45 ball variant and whilst the likes of Winter Spotlight, Bloom and Paint By Numbers have been fun - we want to see more innovation with different games. Not just a reworking of the same 45 ball game. Jigsaw for example could of contained a 'Trick or Treat' element to add something new rather than be style over substance. Anyway that complaint isn't going to make any difference to Tombola as Jigsaw is already very popular and at time of writing attracting almost 700 players into it's cauldron of delights.

Halloween Scratchcards

A seasonal scratchcard called Halloween is the seasonal offering to players from Tombola Arcade. The game mechanic is pretty much the same as every other scratchcard in existence - remove a series of panels and if you match enough of the same symbols then you win a prize. In Halloween's case the 12 panels are represented by hanging pumpkins and the symbols consist of some unsavoury looking Halloween characters. Wagering on the scratchie starts at just 5p but you can increase this up to a maximum of £1. The various prizes increase according to the wager. To win the top prize you'll need to reveal five vampires behind the pumpkins whilst a pair of mummies will return your initial stake. To add a bit of interest to proceedings look out for golden symbols which instantly return you the prize of that particular character. As you'd expect the graphics are top notch and the haunting soundtrack is perfect for a Halloween game.

Trick Or Treat?

We played a fair few rounds of the Halloween Scratchcard and found it to be a more enjoyable experience than spending money on Jigsaw. Whilst we didn't win the big prize there were enough smaller wins to make it worth playing. The wins also weren't just the 5p return to player ones either. Some scratchcards are designed to simply take your money (and no doubt so is this one) but you do feel like there's a chance to be a winner albeit it's unlikely to be the star prize or a golden bonus. If you've recently picked up your Tombola Free Fiver and aren't too sure what to spend it on then we suggest buying a strip or two for Britain's Biggest Bingo game and then heading to Arcade for a few plays on this scratchcard.
