Play Flash Fives - 52 Ball Bingo

Published On 9th February 2021

Playing cards and variations on the bingo game are nothing new. Tombola for example have had Cinco on their site for many years now. Essentially it's a 52 ball game where the aim is to get a full house of five matching cards. Following in Cinco's footsteps is a brand new 52 ball bingo game on Dragonfish. It's called Flash Fives at 888 Ladies and Suits You at Wink but it's better known as Bingo 52 across other brands.

How To Play Flash Fives

Bingo 52 like Tombola's Cinco uses the 52 cards in a playing deck instead of bingo balls. Players are given five cards that represent their bingo ticket. As cards are called any that match are marked off. The aim is to match all five cards in order to call a full house. The Dragonfish Bingo 52 room is pretty sparse and little effort has been made to make it jazzy. Tickets for Bingo 52 cost just 5p and you can play up to 96 cards. The full house prize varies from game to game but there's a guaranteed pot of £1.95 per game.

The beauty of the 52-5 game is that it's pretty quick so ideal if you like speedy play. There's only one winner and that can mean a decent prize if there are a lot of players in the room. When Flash Fives first launched at 888 Ladies Bingo the ticket price was 50p and the room had limited opening hours. This has now changed with a much cheaper game and more regular chances to play. We'd have liked to see Dragonfish follow Tombola's example and offer multiple rooms but with different ticket prices.

Our Verdict

A playing card bingo game isn't a new concept, but for Dragonfish it's a step towards competing with innovation that is usually reserved for Tombola and Virtue Fusion. However, it's not as stylish as Cinco despite Cinco being quite an old game. We don't quite understand why the Bingo 52 game is renamed for different sites - it's still the same game! Naturally we have to compare Bingo 52 to Cinco and the recently launched Housey Bingo at Sun Bingo.

All three versions offer the chance for players to play at just 5p a ticket, but Housey and Cinco do have big money jackpots for calling house in a fixed number of calls. Bingo 52's only real advantage is that you can purchase more than 5 tickets per game. Of the three versions you can play, Dragonfish's Bingo 52 tends to attract less players than the established Cinco and brand new Housey. Given that Bingo 52 is now almost four years old it's possibly time for Dragonfish to give the concept a makeover.
