Live From Studio M Bingo Events

Published On 3rd February 2021

One of the big draws of bingo in general is that it's a community game. Online the chat hosts act as a link between the roomies and there's always a camaraderie amongst players as they hope that the next call will be a winner. To build on this many operators have looked at the holy grail of online bingo - live presenters. Results have been mixed but we'd probably say that Sun Bingo's Having A Ball show probably has been the most successful.

Pre-Having A Ball many brands ran live celebrity chat sessions. Jackpotjoy used to have ex-Big Brother stars dropping in whilst a brand called BingoJoy actually had Brian Dowling compering from a studio although you had to watch through a selected TV channel. Live Studio was also a feature at brands like Crown Bingo and very briefly at the now defunct Cozy Games' Lucky Diner Bingo. And how could we forget the pioneering work of the late great Keith Chegwin who was really on the ball with live shows via online even before he'd launched Cheggars Bingo. Those were the days!

Live From Studio M

However bingo featuring live entertainers and celebrities looks like it is making a bit of a comeback. There is of course Mega Ball Live although this is more of a keno meets bingo game and tends to reside in the live game shows area of online casinos. Mecca Bingo though are doing something more akin to the Live Studio games of old by bringing in presenters to interact with players as they play online. Live from Studio M will be live on Mecca Bingo Monday to Saturday from 8pm to 10pm. You're invited to join in the fun via Mecca's own rooms - Main Event, Penny Lane or Rollercoaster Bingo.

Live From Studio M features presenters Lisa Celisse, Craig Stevens and Leah Charles-King. During the two hour sessions they will be hosting chat games and entertaining players. We don't think they'll be involved in drawing or calling bingo numbers though. During the sessions players will be invited to get involved with the show. Look out for the bonus code that needs to be entered for the chance to go into the daily draw. You could be called live during the show and provided you shout "Show Me The Money" you'll win a £25 cash prize.

Gala Events

Mecca aren't the only brand on the live events bandwagon and in fact Gala Bingo have been riding this particular train for quite a while. In recent weeks they've had Mr Motivator, Shayne Ward and Divina De Campo from RuPaul's Drag Race all in to entertain their players and chat in between the games. Don't worry if you missed De Campo though as Divina will be running Drag Bingo Nights every Tuesday during February! According to Gala she will be bringing "fun, games, singing and hell knows what else" so do try and get along. Note that these events are Session Bingo games and the only way to enter the rooms is via pre-buy and can be purchased up to 7.30pm on the day of the event. Session bundles cost from £6 to £32. Terms apply.

As well as Drag Bingo Nights every Tuesday in February, Gala have other events advertised on the site. All are centred around their exclusive games so include The Chase Is On, Tales From The Dales, Corrie Gossip and In For A Penny. Whilst we don't know which celebs - if any - will be involved in The Chase, Coronation Street and Emmerdale events we do know that In For A Penny will involved the TV show's host Stephen Mulhern. He has been involved in previous In For A Penny events on Gala Bingo and these have included a free to play game. Hopefully they'll be similar next time as there was a decent cash prize on offer too.

Will Others Go Live?

Other brands do try live events. Buzz Bingo for example host "Win Roger's Winnings" at regular intervals. Roger Knowles live streams his bingo play during a selected time and gives players the chance to win any of his winnings. To take part you need to enter a bonus codes in the bingo area. The next event is on 3rd February but we expect that there will be more in the coming weeks and months. It's well worth dropping in and getting involved with this live event as you could win up to £150. The amount of prize money is dependent on Roger actually winning though but there is a minimum prize of £50.

Another live event to look out for is at Quizingo who run monthly quizzes. We're not sure if this is a live stream event though but it's one to look out for. Mind we said the same about Bingo All Stars and have been disappointed. As mentioned above Mr Motivator has hosted one of Gala's chat sessions and it raised an eyebrow or two here because he's also part of the Bingo All Stars team. When that site launched it did promise chat with the featured celebs and although these have happened it hasn't lived up to the hype. Perhaps the arrival of Live From Studio M and the success of Gala's Live Events will motivate them and other brands to look at live studio bingo events to add more interest to bingo and increased value to players.
