Fancy Bingo To Close This Month

Yesterday we told you about a bunch of former Dragonfish bingo brands that were heading to the bingo dustbin. We also speculated that they'd be more to follow but expected them to dribble through over the next few months. Surprisingly we haven't had to wait too long to discover the next brands to be culled under the new Broadway Gaming banner. Later this month a quartert of Ignite Bingo Brands, formerly sister sites of Costa Bingo before everything got sold left right and centre will close their online doors for the last time. Read on to discover who's closing next!
Frozen Out Bingo Brands
Whilst checking in on a bunch of bingo brands we discovered that Dino Bingo, Frozen Bingo, Monkey Bingo and Fancy Bingo will all be closing their virtual doors on the 25th October 2023. Visitors to these sites are met with a large notice simply saying "We are closing" and "don't forget to withdraw your balance". They're also offered a special welcome bonus if they then choose to join 888 Ladies Bingo. That's an intriguing proposition because Broadway Gaming did introduce limits on the number of accounts a player can have on it's network. It'll be interesting to know just how easy it is to open up a new account! The welcome offer is quite generous and includes a bingo bonus, games bonus and some free spins. Although comparatively we think the offer below is much better and more bingo friendly.
Goodbye Fancy Bingo
Of all the brands named above the biggest shock with regards departing the bingo arena is Fancy Bingo. Fancy launched in 2011 and became the fourth brand under the Costa Bingo umbrella joining Sing and City. Fancy's aim was to offer cheap bingo games with big prizes and for a while it definitely did that. There were weekly 1p games with fairly decent prizes although eventually these were networked with City and a whole bunch of other Ignite brands. Unfortunately Fancy couldn't sustain being a penny bingo site and it lost it's unique selling point when it just became Costa in everything but name. Like many brands post 2017 it lost it's way as UKGC rule changes and sales saw it get pushed to the backburner. When Broadway Gaming purchased Costa et al from 888 we were surprised that Fancy was overlooked in favour of Sing and Costa. Less of a surprise is that Dino, Frozen and Monkey have been frozen out. All three launched in 2016 at a time when operator policy was to launch site after site after site.
What Next?
The streamlining of Broadway Gaming's portfolio is something we've expected for some time. The only real surprise is that it's taken them over a year to start switching off brands that obviously had had their day. In our view the only safe old Dragonfish brands from the old 888/Ignite groups are Wink, 888 Ladies, Costa and Sing. That means once popular brands like Posh, Tasty, Redbus and City plus staples such as Wish, Treasure, Season and Rio must have a precarious future ahead. Outside of that stable - and we're looking very much at Moon Bingo and it's sister sites - you have to wonder how long may of them have left. If Broadway Gaming are dumping their own brands, presumably as they're no longer viable, then they're surely going to be pushing other former Dragonfish networks to consider doing the same thing. Our only hope is that in 2024 these huge changes will kick start an improvement in the actual bingo product as well as in player promotions.
