Slingo X-Scream Review

To coincide with Halloween Slingo have released a special spooky version of the popular slots meets bingo game. There are no game or opertator tie-ins here just a straight forward Slingo game with a spooky theme. According to the blurb players are asked if they are brave enough to enter the gloomy graveyard? If you are then grab your lantern and make your way through the mist, aiming to mark off 5 numbers in a row. Prizes are awarded for getting one or more complete lines but there are there any tricks and treats to watch out for?

Play Slingo X-Scream

We love the design of Slingo X-Scream! Everything about it screams Halloween. The setting is a spooky graveyard with glowing pumpkins and some quite scary looking trees. Bats can be seen occasionally flying across the screen! The game's basics of the paytable, 5x5 grid and bowl of balls are all there but they've also been given a ghoulish makeover. The balls are meant to be scary pumpkins but do look a little bit odd but we do really like the spooky font that really stands out in gooey green and purple. To hold everything together there's even some haunting church organ music and soundtrack thrown in for good measure. If this game doesn't get you feeling Halloween then probably nothing will.

How To Play Slingo X-Scream

The main aim of Slingo X-Scream is to get lines - horizontal, vertical or diagonal - of five numbers. The more lines you complete the higher the prize you can win. Wagering on this version of Slingo starts at 20p. This can be increased up to a maximum of £100. The minimum and maximum wager may vary from site to site. In addition to being able to set the wager you can also use the in-game options to number of extra spins, maximum extra spin price, total single game stake and total single game loss. These are useful tools to help you keep within your wagering boundaries. Once you start the game the spins are automatic so you don't need to keep hitting the spin button. Each spin generates up to 5 numbers below the 5x5 grid. If any numbers match then these are marked off on the grid.

Instant Cash Prizes

Once you've accumulated at least 1 winning line then you start winning prizes on Slingo X-Scream. The more lines you create the bigger the prize. During game play you may pick up wilds (pumpkins), super wilds (black cats) and free spins but look out for the joker symbol (the skull) as this prevents you from marking off a number. In addition you may get a coins symbol on the reels. If this crops up then you've won an instant cash prize. At the start of the game you have 11 spins but like other versions of Slingo you may be invited to spin on after the base game concludes and any free spins used. You can then decide to wager the amount shown on screen for an additional spin, collect your prize or end the game. You can only wager-on for a maximum of 8 turns which is a lot less to other recent releases of the game.

Win Up To x500 Your Wager

The prizes you can win from creating lines are all cash prizes and prizes start at just one slingo which is quite generous. The lowest prize you can win is x0.1 the wager and this increases to x500 for a full house. Whilst this is low for a game of Slingo there are chances to win other prizes plus you're can win with just the one line. Although there aren't any bonus rounds - e.g. slots or bonus wheels - you can win with instant coins as mentioned above. Coins award a x0.2 prize but that's not the only treat from Slingo X-Scream. The wilds, black cat and pumpkin, are also scatter symbols and get 3, 4 or 5 of the same symbol on a spin to win x0.5, x2 and x5 payouts respectively.

The Verdict On Slingo X-Scream Review

This is a fun themed version of Slingo and the perfect addition for Halloween. Everything about the game is on point although whether it'll appeal to players in a few months time remains to be seen. One interesting element of the game is that you can only wager on for 8 turns. This may - plus the fact that you can win from just one line - helps make the game a little bit more strategic. By keeping an eye on your total wager versus total potential win (alongside number of turns left) should help you decide whether to play on or not. Recently we wrote about the increase in bingo site themed Slingo games - in our view Slingo X-Scream is just one reason why those particular games don't stack up.
