Jackpot Blast & Arcade Games Arrive At Jackpotjoy

If you've visited Jackpotjoy recently then you might have spotted a feature called The Launchpad. This isn't a new game but a section revealing four epic launches that are due to take place over four weeks. The first of these launches, the excellent bingo and spins game called Fishin Frenzy Bingo, we've already featured but there are now two more exciting additions (you'll have to wait a few more days to see the fourth). The latest arrivals to Jackpotjoy and it's sister brands at Monopoly Casino and Rainbow Riches Casino are Arcade Games and Jackpot Blast. But what are they and are they as good as Fishin Frenzy Bingo?
Arcade Games
In the past seeing something like Arcade Games on a site would conjure up thoughts of Defender and Pacman. Today Arcade Games, at least on a gambling site, refers to instant win style games. According to Jackpotjoy, Arcade Games are "a brand-new way to play, inspired by seaside classics but with a jackpot twist! Enjoy instant wins, fast-paced action, and colourful arcade visuals in a game category that’s all about big fun". Titles inside the Arcade include Balls Galore, Fluffy Arcade Ring Toss, Mines, Mega Fire Blaze Plinko, Plinball, LaunchX, Big Bass Crash and Bad Bass Cash Towers. From those names you mire realise that this section is all about new game mechanics such as Lucky Tap, Crash Games and Cash Tower Games. We'll explain what these all are in another post. The Arcade section is completed with the old school scratchcards and instant wins that have been part of JPJ since day dot.
Jackpot Blast
Jackpot Blast is a new on demand jackpot feature. According to the information on the site you can "opt in whenever you like for just 10p per spin and take your shot at one of four Jackpot Blast prizes - Mini, Minor, Major, or the mighty Mega Jackpot! Play any qualifying game, place your bet, and you could randomly trigger a Jackpot win at any time. With progressive prizes growing across Bally’s network, the excitement never stops"! By opting in, you place a side bet of 10p for the Jackpot bet; this will be in addition to your normal wager/bet to play the game. This side bet will be deducted during each game round of the relevant game. The side bet will remain active until the toggle button is switched off or disabled. The Return to Player (RTP) rate for the Jackpot is set at 80%. If a game you're playing has the Jackpot Blast feature then this will pop up on the screen.
Our Verdict
The addition of Arcade and Jackpot Blast are both interesting developments although in truth neither come close to the arrival of Fishin Frenzy Bingo. Arcade simply acts as a channel to host the new style instant win games that are using mechanics such as Lucky Tap. We just wonder whether these are a bit of a fad or whether they're not that great for players. Still they make an alternative to Slingo for example. The Jackpot Blast progressive is a clever feature but it'll be interesting to see how it goes. At time of writing the site was showing that nearly 200,000 players had opted in. Whether they're all playing at that time is another matter. One thing that would be useful to know with respect to Jackpot Blast is how often the various pots drop. It'd also be nice to see some seriously big progressives at Jackpotjoy - like they used to have!
