Mecca Raffles Return To Mecca Bingo

During January Mecca Bingo suffered a few days outage during a site upgrade. When the site returned it returned without the Raffles channel which led us to believe that following a few months of struggles that it'd be shut down. Well it looks like we were wrong because lo and behold the Raffles section is back up and running again. Hooray! To be honest we're quite surprised to see them back but at the same time it's good news because once again we have a pay to enter prize draw system being run under gambling license rules. Why's that good news? Well pretty much every other raffle site that exists doesn't do this which means safe gambling rules, exemptions, player tools etc aren't taken into account.
Friday Flash Cash
The Mecca Raffles section has returned with not one but three prize draws in tow. Again good news because during December and January there was usually only one running. The three prizes that are on offer include £1500 Cash, a £200 Uber Eats voucher and The Ultimate Apple Bundle. The £1500 prize is offered as a Friday Flash Cash prize draw and costs £1 to enter or free via post. You're unlikely to get a postal entry in for this one because it closes on the 3rd February. However is it worth paying to enter? Well at time of writing (midday on the 2nd) the number of tickets sold is 76. As well as the £1500 main prize there's also 10 x £20 bonuses to be won too so the odds are pretty decent. Mecca are going to have to go some to really push this raffle and generate a lot more sales. In fact we'd be surprised if they hit 500. If you have a spare £1 in your account then it might be worth a try?
Win Uber Eats Vouchers
You have until the 6th February to enter the raffle for the chance to win a tasty £200 Uber Eats voucher. In addition there are 200 x £5 bonuses on offer. Players can enter the raffle by purchasing tickets at the price of 50p per ticket, or by submitting a free postal entry. You might just be able to scrape a postal entry in for this one but given that the price of a first class stamp is more than the 50p entry fee you'd be barmy to even try. All entries must be sent via first class stamp so it's 35p cheaper to enter online. Even if the tickets cost a £1 you've still got to pay for the postcard and get out to the post box. It's fair to say that the "free" entry route is merely there to satisfy UKGC rules on pay to enter prize draws! Anyway this particular draw has to date attracted just 43 entries from a possible 800.
Win The Ultimate Apple Bundle
You could be having a lovely Valentine's Day if you win the Ultimate Apple Bundle in the third of the latest raffle prizes on offer at Mecca Bingo. For £1 you could win a 13in MacBook Pro, iPhone 13 64GB, Apple Watch 7 40mm, Apple AirPods with wireless charging, £125 Apple Gift Card and Apple TV. There's a free entry option for this draw too and you do have time to get a postcard sent off as the closing date is the 13th February. However as outlined above it's probably just as cost effective to purchase a £1 ticket. To date only 22 tickets of a possible 5000 have been sold but we suspect - or at least hope - that more will be sold as the closing date approaches. In addition to the main prize this raffle also has 20 x £10 bonuses to be won.
Your Raffles History
You can see which raffles you've entered via the "Raffles History" but this seems a little limited. For example it currently shows tickets purchased for live prize draws. However you can't find out about previous draws entered or the results of those draws. This is something we think Mecca really need to address and we've said it a number of times now. Seeing the results of the raffles, knowing how many tickets were sold and who won will help inspire other players to take part. You don't need to be a mathematical genius to figure out that taking £76 for a prize draw with a £1500 cash prize is good business. Raffles can work but Mecca need to be looking at the likes of Elite Competitions to understand how to make them work effectively. Still it's good to see them back - how long they will stay is anyone's guess.
