Roll back several years and our news section was full of reviews and updates about the latest online bingo adverts. We had racing OAPs, twerking cactii and dancing dogs and it was all a lot of fun. Legends Of Play is a new campaign that encompasses everything Mecca Bingo. It's been created by The MISSION Group who's aim is "to increase brand consideration and grow market share in the competitive UK bingo sector" (Shots.net). To do this the agency have gone back in time and have selected famous historical figures to play bingo. These include Henry VIII, Cleopatra, Vikings and Cavemen! For example in a TV advert Henry VIII is seen receiving a very regal looking mobile phone on a silver platter. Naturally Henry wins, everyone cheers, a knight does some unneccesary thrusting and the voiceover says "let the good times roll" before correcting that it's only "heads that roll" and apologising to Anne Boleyn. The voiceover is done by Jessica Knappett who played Lisa in The Inbetweeners Movie.

Putting The Fun Back Into Bingo
