Britain's Got Talent Bingo Goes AWOL

This past weekend saw the return of Britain's Got Talent with Bruno Tonioli making his debut as one of the four judges. Tonioli replaced David Walliams in the line-up and immediately made an impact by hitting his Golden Buzzer whilst the Ugandan dance act Ghetto Kids were still performing. Cynical viewers might actually think it was a publicity stunt to get BGT more media column inches but the official word is that Bruno just didn't know the rules. Anyway according to social media there's mixed feelings about the absence of Walliams but there's one absence from the BGT line-up that's gone largely unnoticed. Just where is Britain's Got Talent Bingo?
BGT Bingo
Britain's Got Talent Bingo was an exclusive room on the Mecca Bingo roster and had been part of the site's make-up for a number of years. The brand itself was a show partner and annually ran special promotions to coincide with the series run. Players often had the chance to win tickets to the shows. However this year there's nothing BGT related going on at Mecca Bingo and when we logged in to see if the bingo room was still active it was noticeable by it's absence. Now there could be a couple of explanations for this: firstly Mecca have decided that the BGT room has run it's course and dropped it from the roster; secondly because they're not involved with the series this year they're having to "shelve it" for a few weeks so as to not be seen cashing in on the show's run. If it was the former then we'd have thought that X Factor Bingo would also be gone, after all that show hasn't been on our screens for sometime. The latter is more realistic, even more so as Mecca have Loose Women Bingo filling the gaps until the end of May.
Alternatives To Britain's Got Talent Bingo
The absence of BGT Bingo is even more strange as back in 2022 it was given a revamp with changes to the Lucky Numbers Jackpot and the demise of Starstruck games. If however this is the end of BGT Bingo then it joins a long list of TV show bingo games that have long gone including Take Me Out, In For A Penny, Tipping Point and Love Island. Anyway if you're missing your TV bingo fix then there are plenty of other options to consider. The X Factor Bingo surprisingly continues to thrive at Mecca Bingo and as mentioned above it's been joined by the 50 ball Loose Women room, at least until the end of May. Deal Or No Deal, which will soon return to our screens with Stephen Mulhern at the helm, is also a long term bingo favourite. For more TV themed games your next best option is to head to Foxy or Gala Bingo. They have bingo rooms themed on Coronation Street, Emmerdale, The Chase and Friends.
Britain's Got Talent Slingo
If you do a search on Mecca Bingo for "Britain" then a link for the BGT Bingo room does appear, however when you follow the link you simply get "room closed". In our view this lends further weight that BGT Bingo is on hiatus as otherwise we'd have thought Mecca would have removed all traces. We'll check back to see if the room returns once the TV show concludes with it's live finals in a few weeks time. Interestingly there seems to be no issues with respect to other BGT branded games such as the slot game Britains Got Talent Superstar and Britain's Got Talent Slingo. As these games are pretty much available across multiple sites and platforms we guess they're OK to run provided that operators don't utilise them as some kind of "official partner" element. That said we're not overly impressed with these BGT games. For example the Slingo version is simply a branded version of the basic original and since it launched many years ago there have been many better versions released such as Slingo Cleopatra and Slingo Fire & Ice.
