Burst Bingo is a 50 ball game that features colourfully designed animals holding on to balloons and floating in the sky. On each balloon is a number and a set of 10 balloon holding animals make up your bingo card. The look of the game is quite cute but probably a bit too cute for Mecca to make a song and dance about. These critters would definitely not pass muster with The UKGC if they were more visible.
The Burst Big One
To play Burst Bingo you first need to select your card price. You can choose 25p, 50p, £1, £2 or £3. You can only purchase one card per game. All players will play the same game but the value of the prizes and jackpots increase based on your chosen ticket price. Each bingo card has 10 numbers and the aim of the game is to coverall all number first in order to win the full house.
To complement the base game, Mecca's Burst Bingo also has a couple of progressive jackpots. The Burst Jackpot is won if house is called in 19 calls whilst The Burst Big One is won if house is called in 16 calls. Both are community jackpots and 100% of the pot is shared by the rommies playing the game when the jackpot is won. At time of writing the jackpot was around £740 whilst the bigger pot was at £7400.
Our Verdict
Like other versions of 50 ball bingo, Burst is a fun addition to the Mecca Bingo lobby. We especially like the animals and balloons aspect of the gameplay. However the number calls are accompanied by the most annoying sound that quickly becomes aggrevating. Our advice is to switch the sound off or down when you play.
Unfortunately Burst doesn't quite enjoy a huge billing at Mecca Bingo. We suspect that the theme of the game means it will always be one that's kept underwraps. Most certainly it's not as popular as the BOB rooms. The ticket price is also high (lowest at 25p) but the community jackpots are a nice feature.
