Gala Leisure Begin Launch Of Buzz Bingo

Keep an eye on the high street because there's soon going to be a lot of buzz about bingo. This is because the 120+ Gala Bingo halls that operate up and down the country will soon be rebranded to Buzz Bingo. The rebrand isn't confined to offline either. According to reports Buzz Bingo will be implemented on the brand's digital properties too.

We assumed that this would effect Galabingo.com. However, that's not the case! That site will still remain under the control of Ladbrokes Coral. The retail side of things is owned by Caledonia Investments and they're rebranding the clubs and their own website that operates under the 'Gala Leisure' umbrella.

Hoping To Create A Buzz Online

The new Buzz Bingo brand has already been established at a couple of locations including Peterborough. Jane Wey, a local who's known for keeping the club spotless by picking up litter, was tasked with the job of declaring the renamed location open (Peterborough Today).

Further to the rebrand initiative, John Kelly who founded the Gala Coral group has returned to the board of Gala Leisure. Igaming Business reports that his arrival will include expansion into the online bingo market. This is exciting news as it could mean the first major operator to enter the arena in several years.

52 Lives Partnership Continues

In other Gala Bingo news, we can report that the brand has renewed it's partnership with UK charity 52 Lives. This relationship started in 2016 and to date over £150,000 has been raised through charity games. These games play daily at 7.30pm and 100% of profits go to the good cause.

It will be interesting to see how Galabingo.com fairs once it becomes disassociated with the retail clubs. Could Buzz steal away some of the online players if/when it jumps in to the online arena? Most certainly the industry is calling for something new and exciting the shake things up a bit.
