Britain's Biggest Bingo To Take A Summer Break

Back in October 2022 Tombola launched a massive new 90 ball bingo game called Britain's Biggest Bingo. Seeded at a guaranteed £100,000 this game that would play at the start of every month offered players the chance to win some serious cash prizes from as little as 50p a ticket. Indeed in November 2022 in the very first game an incredible 171,178 players got involved and saw one lucky player take home £239,168. Players enjoyed the game but many were frustrated by the lack of one line and two line prizes plus the coldness of proceedings. For such a momentous game there perhaps should have been a lot more fanfare. Anyway the Britain's Biggest Bingo game has continued at Tombola albeit with jackpots far removed from that first outing. But if you want to be a big money bingo winner then you'll need to be quick as Tombola are placing it on hiatus after the June game.
Summer Break
The June game for Britain's Biggest Bingo will take place on the 1st at 9pm. Tickets cost 50p each and players can purchase a maximum of 4 (£2). After this the game will go on a summer break. According to Tombola "it's been an incredible 7 months in Britain’s Biggest Bingo with seven players winning over £100k each, but it's time for our monthly Full House bingo game to take a summer break, last chance to play on the 1st June". Since launching the game Tombola have given away an incredible £1.15million but it does seem as though interest in the game has dwindled based on the jackpots won. The May 2023 prize was £111,246 which is less than half of the November 2022 prize. However we do have to take into consideration that the November game was around the time of Tombola's annual Free Fivers and we do wonder whether that had a bearing on the jackpot. Other prize amounts include £113,998 (April), £135,280 (March), £157,012 (February), £177,782 (January) and £221,667 (December).
Will It Return?
A break for the game makes a lot of sense. Firstly it's evident by the decreasing jackpots that the number of players paying to play has fallen. Remember Tombola seed this game at £100,000 and if the numbers continue to fall then that potentially means they're losing money on the game. Interest in online bingo does fall off over the summer months as people are busy doing other things. Giving the game a little holiday will perhaps gives players time to miss the game and long to give it a play again come the winter. And there's no reason not to expect Tombola to revisit Britain's Biggest Bingo again in the future. In fact it wouldn't be a surprise if they relaunch it again around the time Free Fivers return to the site. Of course there is the possibility that the game doesn't return, but we'll only know Tombola's decision later in the year. However if or when the game returns we do think that it needs a bit of a revamp. That includes offering a one line and two line prize so that the game is more interesting. In addition a bit more razzmaztazz along the lines of Buzz Bingo's Live games would also help.
Foxy's £100K Bingo Game
Tombola aren't the only site with a big money game that takes place monthly. Foxy and Gala launched a shared £100K game around the same time - and possibly in response to - Britain's Biggest Bingo. The next round of that particular game is due for eyes down on the 2nd June 2023 and as yet there's no indication that Foxy will be putting their game on holiday. Overall we like the Entain £100K game a lot more simply because there's a better cash prize distribution. There's £10,000 for one line, £20,000 for two lines and £50,000 for the full house. In addition 1TG players all share a £10,000 pot plus as the game has a roll on feature it means a further 5 x £2000 prizes are dished out as the numbers continue to be called. Another plus point is that you can play from just 10p a ticket. The downside is that it's less even stevens than Britain's Biggest Bingo as players can play from 1 to 120 tickets. It'll be interesting to see whether Foxy's game does indeed continue "until further notice" or whether they too will use the summer to give things a rest.
