Game play is simple - you select your wager and then hit "Play". Bizarrely you then have to hit "Stop" to start the claw. The claw then moves from side to side until you hit the "Grab" button". Once you've clicked grab, the claw descends and pulls out a toy. Don't get excited as this point as you've not won! The claw has to drop the toy down the chute before your prize is guaranteed. Just like in a real game the claw can drop the prize or miss the chute. We actually got the Jackpot Unicorn in the claw but it missed the chute so no win.
So Close But So Far
We found that Grabba Dabba Dough was happy to pay out small prizes (50p, £1 and Mystery) but any bigger prizes always missed the chute. Of course this is exactly like the real thing. The feeling of being so close to a big prize spurs you on to have another try. Grabba Dabba Dough is a lot more exciting than the standard scratchcard or instant win game. We enjoyed playing it, although ultimately it did leave us frustrated at not getting a big prize - just like the real thing in fact.
