Slingo Big Wheel Review

The Slingo format continues to evolve and one of the latest releases combines the popular slots meets bingo game with a Wheel Of Fortune bonus wheel. This creates the Slingo Big Wheel game. Instead of winning a fixed cash prize for collecting Slingos players unlock the bonus wheel and then spin for the chance to win a varied multiplier. The number of lines increases the multiplier ranges. It's an interesting take on the traditional game that gives you the chance to win up to x2500 your initial stake.

Play Slingo Big Wheel

After a number of stylish Slingo variations themed to the likes of Lobstermania, Starburst and Reel King, Big Wheel is a more paired back design. The usual 5x5 grid is bathed in red and gold and dominates the game window. The bonus wheel turns at the left of the screen but this is faded out (and locked) until a fixed number of Slingos have been achieved. The background is fairly muted but gives the sense of being a gameshow stage. In truth it's not the greatest looking of Slingo games but it's OK. Interestingly a new button appears in this game which when clicked takes you to the paytable - although this is also in the game's help page.

How To Play Slingo Big Wheel

The main aim of Slingo Big Wheel is to get lines - horizontal, vertical or diagonal - of five numbers. The more lines you complete the higher the prize you can win. Wagering on this version of Slingo starts at 20p. This can be increased up to a maximum of £100. The minimum and maximum wager may vary from site to site. Once you start the game the spins are automatic so you don't need to keep hitting the spin button. Each spin generates five numbers below the 5x5 grid. If any numbers match then these are marked off and changed to a star. When you complete a row of five numbers then you move closer to unlocking the bonus wheel.

Unlock The Bonus Wheel

Once you've accumulated at least 3 winning lines then the bonus wheel is unlocked. The more lines you create the bigger the multiplier range. During game play you may pick up wilds, super wilds and free spins that are represented by game show designed logos. One thing that doesn't seem to be part of this particular Slingo version is the joker symbol that prevents you from marking off a number. At the start of Slingo Big Wheel you have just 10 spins. However like other versions of Slingo you may be invited to spin on after the base game concludes and any free spins used. You can then decide to pay the amount shown on screen for an additional spin, collect your prize or end the game. You can only wager-on for a maximum of 40 turns.

Win Up To x2500

The prizes you can win from creating lines are all multipliers and prizes start at 3 Slingos. The lowest prize you can win is x0.5 the wager and this increases to x2500 for a full house. The maximum prize on offer is x2500 which is considerably less when compared to other versions of the game. The fact that you could also end up with x100 for the full house is also worth noting. It is worth getting versed in the multiplier ranges for Slingo Big Wheel as this may well be a huge factor in whether you decide to wager on or not. Unusually, based on recent releases, there are no bonus games or options to take an alternative to the cash prizes - such as slot bonus.

The Verdict On Slingo Big Wheel Review

Adding the Wheel of Fortune bonus wheel adds an extra dimension to this particular version of Slingo but we're not quite whether it works. The main aim of the game is to encourage you to gamble on with a few extra spins but the bonus wheel acts as a deterrent. If you spin on on fixed prize games you know you how much you're going to win for a certain number of winning lines. In Big Wheel you only know the multiplier range and that brings added risk. On the bonus wheels you only have a 1 in 10 chance of hitting the top prize and there's more chance of getting a low return. E.g for 5 lines you could win x1 to x35 but 6 segements are x1 to x5.
