Slingo Inca Trail Review
Slingo Inca Trail is the latest addition to the ever expanding list of games from Gaming Realms and Slingo Originals. This latest variation of the slots meets bingo game takes the player to Peru and the home of the "fabled footsteps of the Peruvian Incas". By incorporating a new trail feature you could be heading - at least virtually - to Machu Picchu and potentially win up to x5000 your original stake. We've lamented about the quality of some Slingo games recently, especially the very poor site branded versions which add nothing to the game's reputation. Inca Trail has all the ingredients for a more interesting Slingo experience, but does it actually deliver?
Slingo Inca Trail is a stunning looking version of the popular game and it reminds us of some of the top slots from the likes of Net Entertainment such as Aloha! Cluster Pays. The 5x5 grid, with gold numbers on a red background, is cleverly positioned in the side of an Inca temple with the green paytable located to it's left. The spinning reels are purple whilst at the top of the pyramid is a set of blue numbered blocks and bonuses. These represent the bonus trail which form part of the game. The Inca theme is completed with trees and a coulourful looking llama. The game buttons are located at the right of screen. Wagering on this version of Slingo, which can be set by selecting the gold cash button, starts at 20p. This can be increased up to a maximum of £5 although this is based on the game being hosted at Foxy Bingo. The minimum and maximum wager may vary from site to site.
How To Play Slingo Inca Trail
In addition to being able to set the wager you can also use the in-game options to limit the number of extra spins, maximum extra spin price, total single game stake and total single game loss. These are useful tools to help you keep within your wagering boundaries. The aim of Slingo Inca Trail is to create winning lines - horizontal, vertical or diagonal - of five numbers. The more lines you complete the higher the prize you can win. At the start of Slingo Inca Trail you have 10 spins. On each spin the individual reels may reveal a number and if these match any on your playing card then they're removed. Numbers are marked with a lovely green jewel so you can see your progress. Spins of the reels are automated so you don't have to do get too involved with the game play.
Super Wilds
There is some interactivity with Slingo Inca Trail. During game play you may get a wild or super wild symbol. These allow you to select numbers on your game card to cross off. In many Slingo games a joker is part of the game but as far as we can tell there's not one here. Instead there are trail numbers which boost the bonus trail line. Whilst that's good for that feature it does also mean that you don't cross off numbers on the grid, therefore acting as jokers. Additionally you may get a free spin ball which allows another spin at the end of the game. To win on Slingo Inca Trail you need to create a minimum of three lines. This will earn you a x1 win. However like other variants of the game you are encouraged to spin on for the chance to get a bigger prize. You are limited to a maximum of 40 extra spins but do remember each spin does require an extra wager.
The Inca Trail Bonus
The basic paytable for Inca Trail is typically the same as many other Slingo games. The maximum prize for completing a full house is x500. However the game does offer you the chance to win up to x5000 your stake with the Inca Trail bonus. During game play you may get arrows with numbers on during a spin. These represent the number of steps you can take to hit the bonus trail. You need at least 7 to hit the bonus, 8 for the super bonus and 9 for the mega bonus. To help you the trail will randomly hold on some turns. If you're lucky enough to hit the trail then you are invited to spin the wheel. Land on a symbol and you move along the trail until you reach the next symbol selected. You keep spinning until the spinner lands on "collect" or you reach Machu Picchu. Reach the top of the bonus trail and you're invited to collect a treasure to reveal your multiplier win up to x5000 your initial stake.
Our Verdict
The standard and quality of Slingo games has dramatically improved in the last few months and it's great to see. Inca Trail is up there with the likes of Fire & Ice for design, game play and for entertainment, which is what you want from any game. This is a high volatile game and probably one of the few Slingo versions we've played where it's felt possible to win at least x1 or x2 your stake within the first 10 spins. The trail is of course the most exciting element of Inca Trail but the chances of hitting it seem quite remote. We rarely made it to step 4 and the random holds don't show up when you really need them. When they do decide to activate then you never seem to get any bonus steps on the next spin. This could become annoying after multiple plays but for now we're more than happy to keep playing. More of this kind of Slingo variant and less of the branded versions please.
