Slingone Fishing Review
It might be just coincidence but it seems a little strange that just a month or so after Blueprint Gaming launched Fishin Frenzy Prize Lines, Slingo have added a fishing themed game to their roster. Slingone Fishing (see what they did there) follows hot on the heels of the Lucky Larry's Lobstermania version of the game so it does an even stranger decision. Prize Lines by the way is a new mechanic for games which combines completing a 5x5 grid in a bingo meets slots style way. If you've already played Slingo then you'll understand why Prize Lines is very similar! Anyway let's go fishing and cast our eye over Slingo's latest catch.
The Slingone Fishing game looks great and as you'd expect it's located under the deep blue sea. A small fishing vessel bobs perilously atop of the ocean whilst bubbles rise from the seafloor. The bubbles are a little strange as they make the scene look more like a fish tank. To the right of the usual 5x5 grid is a burly fisherman who makes the character in Fishin Frenzy Prize Lines look like a male model. This fella has some serious large eyebrows and bushy moustache! The paytable to the left of the grid completes the scene. Slingone Fishing has been designed to be easily played on all devices including mobile, tablet and desktop.
How To Play Slingone Fishing
The main aim of Slingone Fishing is to get lines - horizontal, vertical or diagonal - of five numbers. The more lines you complete the higher the prize you can win. Wagering on this version of Slingo starts at 10p. This can be increased up to a maximum of £100. The minimum and maximum wager may vary from site to site. Once you start the game the spins are automatic so you don't need to keep hitting the spin button. Each spin generates five numbers below the 5x5 grid. If any numbers match then these are marked off and changed to a starfish. When you complete a row of five numbers then you move up the prize board.
Fishing Rod Bonuses
During game play you may pick up free spins, jokers (wilds) that are represented by seagulls, superwilds represented by an octopus and blocker symbols represented by an old boot. The latter prevent you from marking off a number. During the game you may also get a Fishing Rod - if this appears then this awards a cash prize plus - if available a randomly selected multiplier. These multipliers (fish) occur each time you complete a line. Like other versions of Slingo you may be invited to spin on after the base game concludes and any free spins used. You can then decide to pay the amount shown on screen for an additional spin, collect your prize or end the game. You can only wager-on for a maximum of 40 turns.
Win Up To x20,000
The prizes you can win from creating lines are all cash related and prizes start at 4 Slingos. The lowest prize you can win is x5 the wager and this increases to x200 for a full house. The maximum prize on offer is x20,000. Unusually, based on recent releases, there are no bonus games or options to take an alternative to the cash prizes in Slingone Fishing. To be fair this isn't a problem as it does have the added extra of the Fishing Rod Bonus. If you do win a Fishing Rod Bonus then this does offer an advantage as you know you have a guaranteed win that may be useful for deciding whether you choose to wager on or not during a particular round.
The Verdict On Slingone Fishing Review
Comparisons between Fishin Frenzy Prize Lines and Lobstermania Slingo are inevitable but each game has it's own particular merits. Of the three we do prefer Lobstermania but we think it's hard to split Fishin Frenzy and Slingone Fishing. As a version of Slingo the latter does look great and we love the addition of the Fishing Rod Bonus. However don't expect it to crop up too often. Bizarrely the only time we saw the bonus it popped up twice during trial play. It should be noted the wins didn't involve a multiplier though! We like this new addition to the Slingo Universe but we'd love to know if it was a game already in planning or a response to the new Prize Lines games.
