MrQ Open Up Their Bingo Rooms

Back in 2018 MrQ launched their online site with a view to disrupting the online gambling industry. Their initial focus was on bingo. Two years before the arrival of MrQ they'd seeded the idea of a new bingo platform with an April Fool's announcement about the launch of a site called Square Bingo. This jape actually provided a lot of information including the conclusion that the bingo industry was desperate for change from the endless cookie cutter slots and bingo brands masquerading as "new". Fast forward eight years and we're still desperate for change. The number of new brands may have diminished but we still have a lot of rinse and repeat sites. If anything things are worse because most big brands have all but given up on bingo and instead opted to promote the higher revenue generating slots. But what about MrQ Bingo?

Sadly MrQ has struggled when it comes to online bingo. They've had some great ideas such as the Rock N RollOver Bingo room and brought in celebrities, such as Amy Childs, to help raise the profile. Peter Andre even enjoyed a few games with his family via Zoom during lockdown. However the rooms never really attracted players and we did wonder whether MrQ were really looking to develop themselves as a bingo destination. Rooms closed and those rooms that remained only seemed to open once a day. In another article we questioned whether MrQ might look to Pragmatic Play and introduce a third party plug-in to replace their own bingo rooms - in the same way that Jumpman Gaming did. Well it looks like that's not going to happen because we're pleased to report that MrQ have started to breathe life into their rooms. It's baby steps at the moment but the 90 ball Pinch A Penny room is now open throughout the day.
Pinch A Penny
If you like penny bingo then MrQ's Pinch A Penny room is perfect because you can play 90 ball games for just 1p a ticket. You can play from one ticket up to a maximum of 960 (or £9.60). Purchasing one ticket isn't an option when you go to buy but if you select 960 a drop down box appears and you can then choose any number from 1 to 960. 960 tickets though is quite high and we'd be surprised if anyone actually purchases that many. Games take place every five minutes and offer the chance to win one line, two lines or a full house. At time of writing the room was occupied by 12 players playing for around £3, £4 and £8. Sadly there are no chatrooms or options to be able to purchase tickets for future games. Joining Pinch A Penny on the MrQ Bingo roster is Dab & Disco, a 90 ball room with games every 10/15 minutes - tickets cost 20p - and On The House, a free 90 ball bingo room also with games every 10/15 minutes. To access the latter you need to have made a deposit at MrQ in the last 30 days.

MrQ also boasts two other bingo rooms: Tropic Like It's Hot which is a 30 ball bingo room that uses pictures instead of numbers and Cheap As Chips which plays jackpot games daily. Tickets for these two rooms start at 10p. It's fair to say that these aren't busy bingo rooms but that doesn't mean they're not worth checking out. Perhaps you're bored of the same old same old or find platforms like Tombola just a tad too busy. Ticket prices are reasonable and there are prizepots ranging from £1 (On The House) to £50 (Cheap As Chips). Sadly there aren't any 75 ball rooms and chat would be nice - but if the number of roomies started to increase then good things could happen. It may be a few years now since Square Bingo - then eventually MrQ - set out to disrupt online bingo. It is still in need of change - perhaps we're finally get to see that change as we head into 2025.
