MrQ To Launch First TV Advert
Article Updated On 29th July 2021
MrQ are the latest online slots and bingo brand to take to the small screen. A brand new TV campaign featuring Joe Wilkinson will launch across the Sky TV Network during August. MrQ has been online since 2018 and has tried to do things differently to established brands and networks. They set up their own bingo platform, paid out all winnings in cash and have no wagering terms. Will this new campaign get more people talking about MrQ?
New TV Advert
The advert itself is very laid back. It starts off with the MrQ logo and Wilkinson saying Mr Who? The graphics in the advert mirror perfectly those you'll find on the MrQ which Joe describes as just another online casino. The main part of the ad is to describe what players will find at the site. Namely no wagering, no nonsense, loads of games, super fast withdrawals and all winnings paid in cash. MrQ's 4/5 rating is also mentioned and the ad concludes with MrQ the "award winning, no nonsense online casino you've never heard of".
It's a pretty straightforward advert but then long gone are the days when bingo and casino ads featured dancing cacti, pooping pigeons or old ladies racing scooters. Joe Wilkinson's commentary is perfect although some people might not know which actor is doing the voiceover. To be fair we didn't know him by name but a quick Google of 'Joe Wilkinson' and he's instantly recognisable as Postman Pat from the excellent Ricky Gervais series After Life. He's also a regular on panel shows such as 8 Out of 10 Cats and 8 Out of 10 Cats Do Countdown.
One thing that is evident though is that the advert doesn't mention bingo. The focus is purely slots and casino. However that may not be a surprise when you drop into the bingo section at MrQ. The number of rooms have been reduced and currently the only rooms are Free For All, Piece Of Cake, Popcorn and Rock and Rollover. Other rooms such as Freedom, Ocean, Festival and Cloud 9 look like they've closed. When you login and go to the lobby the rooms are on the quiet side. This makes us wonder whether MrQ may look to Pragmatic Play's bingo rooms as an alternative option sometime in the future or look to developing their own similar product so as to build up a bigger audience.
Attracting Gala Bingo Players
Either way this would be an ideal time to target bingo and slot players who have been disappointed by the recent changes implemented at Gala. Mind you the Gala change - although widely expected - was done so stealthily we think that might have been strategic. It's a bit daft broadcasting your intentions to make changes so that your competitors are ready to pounce with exciting offers and promotions to entice those players who aren't overly pleased with change. With a better bingo product we do think MrQ could easily attract players looking for new options. Unfortunately, other than Tombola, standalone sites with their own platform rarely seem to be able to get established.
No More Mr Who
Hopefully the TV campaign will elevate MrQ from Mr Who to a more well known brand. It boasts a tremendous array of slots including Slingo and Megaways. There are a few table games although the site could benefit with the addition of live game shows and live casino options. As mentioned the bingo definitely needs some TLC which is a shame as we love the fact that MrQ want to be different from the usual Dragonfish, Virtue Fusion and Jumpman brands. New players are offered an exciting welcome bonus and we hope to see a few promotions during August to celebrate the new TV campaign.
