Which Bingo have launched their annual bingo awards and that's great news for players. This is because a number of the nominees love to encourage players to vote with an incentive or two. Now they're not doing this out of the kindness of their hearts because they're after the votes. This kind of makes a bit of a mockery of the process because it stops being about the best in class but more a who can cajole the most people to vote. Thankfully Which Bingo do have some judged awards for categories such as most socially responsible operator, best mobile bingo, best customer service, best slots developer and best bingo software. These categories require nominations from operators themselves. That's a good thing.
Best New Bingo Site
In the other awards, such as best bingo site, best slots site, best new bingo site and similar, the team at Which have shortlisted a bunch of brands. Now when rival portal, BingoPort announced their best new bingo site shortlist we weren't very impressed especially as it comprised no new sites from 2022. In fact Heart Bingo which re-launched in 2018 won which makes no sense to us whatsoever. Fortunately Which have compiled their shortlist from more recent launches such as Bingo Stars, Blast Off Bingo, Oink Bingo and Fav Bingo. Of those only Fav we believe is totally brand new whilst the others are relaunches after closures. Joining them is Bet365 Bingo which isn't a new site. It simply stopped being with Virtue Fusion one day and was with Pragmatic Play the next. That's not being new! They're a big established brand who with a gentle push could accumulate enough votes to easily win the category. In fact it could come across to that they've been shoe-horned in to guarantee an award win.
What Is A Proprietary Bingo Site?
Another category that confuses us is the Best Proprietary Software one. A bit of spell check on propietary might be needed. Anyway the nominations include Coral, Ladbrokes, Gala, Foxy, Jackpotjoy and Double Bubble Bingo. Four use the Entain platform whilst two use Gamesys. That's not proprietary in our view otherwise you're going to have to include every brand that exists. The only valid (in our view) options that are amongst the nominees are Tombola and MrQ, both are independent brands with their own software. In a fair fight this award should be heading to Tombola but the all important push for votes may well result in something different. One final observation comes in the best bingo game section. Firstly it's great to see Foxy Bingo's Battle Royale amongst the nominees but where are any of Tombola's games? Surely Britain's Biggest Bingo, Paint By Numbers, Jigsaw, Nevada and countless others are better games than Bingo Blast?
Daily Free Bingo At Foxy & Gala
To celebrate the launch of the awards, Foxy Bingo who are nominated in a couple of categories, are offering free bingo games to their players. Every day between the 1st March and 14th April they're running a bunch of free to play games in Top Of The Fox between 7.30pm and 8pm. There's a total of £1008 to be won every week. To take part all you have to do is login to Foxy Bingo and pick up your free tickets. No deposit is needed but you must have an eligible and verified account. Note that these free bingo games are being shared by other Entain brands so you'll also find them on Gala, Coral and Ladbrokes. From what we can see it looks like Gala and Foxy are sharing the same room whilst Ladbrokes and Coral have their own. Now whilst these free games are there to encourage you to vote for your favourite site you actually don't have to to get access to the free bingo games. Kudos for Entain for doing it this way - although to be fair it would probably be difficult and/or a GDPR nightmare to find out who's voted and who hasn't.
Free Bingo If Mecca Bingo Win
Mecca Bingo are nominated for three awards including Best Bingo Site, Best Chat Team and Best Playtech Bingo Site. To celebrate they're offering free bingo sessions to players but only if they win! For every award that Mecca take home on the night they'll host a £1000 free bingo session. So that means there's potential for up to 3 x £1000 free bingo sessions. Again you don't have to vote in order to qualify for the free games - should they materialise - but Mecca do politely ask you to give them a vote if you think that they deserve the title. We wouldn't be surprised to see Mecca Bingo claim at least one award so that should mean some free bingo. However what usually happens is that at least one free session has been penned in and we'd expect to see at least one being run at some point after the awards night - whether it's as a celebration or as a thanks for voting.
