Lotto365 Launches At Bet365

Online betting and lottery have been regular bedfellows over the years. However the relationship has been a bit of a rollercoaster. On one hand Betfred has embraced lotto and has an extensive betting section dedicated to it, whilst on the other Unibet have dropped their section whilst others have reduced opportunites on their own platforms. Gala Bingo even tried to get in on the lottery betting market with Flutter but that too was shortlived. One reason for lotto's varying fortunes on the betting markets could be due to The UKGC's decision to stop bets being taken on Euromillions and The UK National Lottery on UK brands. Fortunately there are sites like Betfred that are perfect for lotto betting. Betfred even run their own games, such as The Nifty Fifty, and joining them on that bandwagon are Bet365. They've teamed up with SIS, who run the 49's Live Numbers Draw, to produce a new section on Bet365 imaginatively titled Lotto365!
What Is Lotto365?
Lotto365 is an online lottery draw that takes place every five minutes 23 hours every day. It is streamed live from the 49's broadcast studios in Milton Keynes. Note that you only watch the live stream draws by logging into Bet365. Each lottery game consists of 36 balls and the aim is to match five numbers for the chance to win up to £100,000 from a £1 stake. As with other lottery games players can win by matching fewer numbers. For example if you select five numbers and match 4 then you'll win £500, whilst it's £36.50 for matching 3 out of 5. You don't have to select five numbers to play as you can choose from Pick 1 through to Pick 5. Additional betting options are available. For example you can bet on the colours of each of the balls drawn, odds and evens and Hi-Lo. Results of previous draws are shown on Bet365 whilst there's an extensive section highlighting the hot numbers and cold numbers based on recent draws. Interestingly this lotto data is also shared on the 49's website alongside their own twice daily 49's draw and Irish Lotto Bet.
Other Lottery Betting
Lotto365 isn't the only lottery that can be bet on at Bet365. They also have markets for 49s, Irish Lottery, Irish Daily Million, Spanish Lottery, New York Lottery, German Lottery, French Lottery and Canadian. This is quite a good mix especially when you compare it to Ladbrokes (3 options), Coral (3 options), Unibet (0 options), Betfair (0 options) and Paddy Power (5 options). William Hill however do match up pretty well with 9 different markets including the Polish Lotto. However none are as prolific as Betfred who boast 13 differerent lottery books including The Greek and Australian games. These are joined by three of their own games: The Nifty Fifty, Fred's 20 Ball Draw and Fred's 49 Ball Draw. We don't think there's a comparable game to Lotto365. Betfred's The Nifty Fifty is perhaps the closest but this only offers five chances to win up to £5 million for a a £1 stake every day! The draws are at 10.30am, 11.30am, 12.30pm, 2.30pm and 6.30pm. Betfred's 49 Ball Draw is similar in that it plays every few minutes but it's a 49 number draw as opposed to 36 therefore the prizes and win tables naturally differ.
More Exclusive Lottos?
It'll be interesting to see whether other bookies look towards the lottery markets again to boost interest for players. Bet365 are on record as suggesting that their new Lotto365 product will be "highly appealing". We're not totally sure about Lotto365 as there are already plenty of lottos to wager on for those who are interested. The only plus point is that it plays every five minutes but is there a market for that much lotto action? Naturally if that does turn out to be the case then Paddy Power, William Hill and others may well look to improve their own offerings. Betfred may even consider boosting the presence of their own Nifty Fifty game. The problem for other bookies, Betfred aside, is that Bet365 were working closely with SIS already as the first brand to stream the draws for the 49's live. Therefore we can summise that SIS won't be rushing to produce competitive products on Bet365's competitors. That will mean they'll need to find another partner - or do it themselves - in order to develop a similar lottery product.
