The Bonus Drop Offers Daily Chances To Win
This Promotion Ends On 31st December 2024 - Article Published On 7th February 2024
The Bonus Drop is one of the longest running free to play games currently being offered by bookmakers, slots sites and bingo brands. William Hill introduced the concept back in 2019 and, aside from a brief interjection with The Bonus Explorer, it's been a staple of the William Hill promotions section ever since. In fact it's even replaced the welcome bonus for bingo players! The Bonus Drop has been given a number of expiry dates buy these have long gone and passed and it now seems it's going to be with us for the forseeable future. The fact that other brands have introduced similar games (Paddy's Wonder Wheel, Betfair's Prize Pinball and Ladbrokes' Instant Spins are just a few examples) suggests that they work well in encouraging repeat visits. One thing however has changed since The Bonus Drop first arrived on the scene and that's the top prize. Today you can play for the chance to win £1000.
What Is The Bonus Drop
The Bonus Drop is a free to play game that essentially gives you a chance of winning up to £1000 cash. As far as we're aware no deposit is required to play but withdrawal terms may be applicable if you win any prizes. To take part you first need to be registered with William Hill. The just login and head to The Bonus Drop game. This is accessible via the promotions page within the bingo, casino, vegas, games and sportsbook channels. When the game loads you'll be faced by a purple and pink coin drop style machine - like the one in Tipping Point (minus the sweepers) or the 2p machines in arcades. It could be called a Pachinko game but the design is a lot more basic. You have one coin - or token - to drop into the machine with the hope that it lands in a winning position once it's traversed down to the winning segments at the foot of the game.
How To Play The Bonus Drop
To play The Bonus Drop you simply need to drop the coin at one of three pre-set locations at the top of the game - left, middle and right. This determines which section of the machine the coin drops. We don't believe there's any skill or strategy involved when deciding where to place your token - and anticipate the result is pre-determined regardless of which option you select. The temptation is always to select the option with the most win boxes below it but that doesn't generate the most wins. After you've selected a position the coin then drops through the machine and will either settle in a "blue gift", "red cross" or cash prize position at the end. If you get a cross then it's a no win and you'll walk away empty handed, but if it's a blue gift then you have won yourself a bonus. Any prize will be revealed at this point.
Win Free Spins & Cash Prizes
The prizes that you can win on The Bonus Drop will vary but we think are mainly free spins and deposit bonus offers. For example when we played we received 5 free spins on the Irish themed Rainbow Jackpots slot (no wagering terms apply to any wins on the slot as they're paid in cash). One thing that was evident when we opted in to accept the spins was the number of pop-ups confirming the free spins and terms associated with accepting them. We expect this will be the case with any further wins. As we've said on other free game reviews this mechanic is designed to encourage return visits and highlight new games. Other prizes include cash - up to £1000 - and bonuses. Note that bonuses will require a wager before they become activated and wagering terms may apply.
Is It Worth Playing?
It's hard to make a case against an opportunity to win £1000 daily for free and for that reason alone we'd suggest dropping in on William Hill Vegas on a regular basis. However The Bonus Drop can be incredibly frustrating. Although we've never totted up the percentages of free spin wins versus no wins and/or bonus offers the latter do crop up time and time and time again. Most certainly other games - namely Instant Spins and Rewards Grabber - tend to be more rewarding. We also have to address the fact that although The Bonus Drop does offer a £1000 top prize - and a couple of other smaller cash prizes - it's not clear if these are awarded daily, weekly or ever. The cash prize is attractive but to date there have never ever been any indication of a winner. We would love to know if anyone actually wins and the frequency that the big prize is awarded.
