Buzz Bingo Has Arrived

Buzz Bingo is the new on the high street and also online. They've rebranded over 100 clubs from Gala Leisure and they now hope to put the "buzz" back into bingo. That's a tall ask given that the popular game is in a slump. Players have fallen out of love with the game, jackpots and prizes are down, taxes are up and compliance is killing everyone!

All this doesn't seem to worry Buzz Bingo! They've invested heavily in their rebranding exercise and recently launched their new online site. To coincide with this they've also launched a brand new TV advert. It's aim is to appeal to everyone - whatever their background or age.

What's The Buzz

The advert starts with a man in a kitchen enjoying a cuppa. He's interrupted by a huge red Buzz Bingo ball appearing out of nowhere. We then switch to join Julia, Emma and Ian who have had the best night ever at a Buzz Bingo club. This then jumps to a lady in the bath who's obviously enjoying playing online whilst soaking in the tub.

The message is that Buzz Bingo is all about everyone being in it together - one big gang - one big community. The Buzz is happening now in club or online! Punctuating proceedings are shots from what looks like something out of Butlins and the 70s. We're not sure this really fits with the modern Buzz Bingo as it harks back to the days of the blue rinse brigade.

Moonraker

Unusually Buzz Bingo has opted for a classical soundtrack. There's no Grime or 70s disco rewrites here! Instead Buzz opts to use the Tritsch Tratsch Polka by Johann Strauss II. Tritsch-Tratsch apparently refers to the Viennese passion for gossip. The track has also been used in movies such as Robots and Moonraker!!

Buzz Bingo's new advert does a decent job, although we do wonder if it does enough. It's not bad but then again it's not memorable. There's nothing quirky such as rapping comedians, annoying songs, or cute dogs. However, Tombola have managed fine with the player community approach so there's no reason why it can't work here.
