Bingo Godz, Loopy & Bingos To Close

Published On 18th October 2018

Bingo Godz have announced that they are to close their doors as of the 31st October. When we visited the site we found a "Sorry we're closing" message on the site. Players are advised to play through or withdraw any remaining cash balance as soon as possible. The minimum withdrawal limit has been adjusted to £1 as of Monday 15th October.

Bingo Godz has had a rollercoaster ride during it's brief online lifespan. It launched in 2013 and was the brainchild of guys who'd previously been involved with Foxy Bingo. The original Bingo Godz aimed to gameify online bingo by moving players up levels and worlds through loyalty. The site had a huge online advertising campaign and at one point even brought in celebs such as Brian Blessed and Helen Flanagan.

Loopy & Bingos To Close Too

Despite the booming voice of Blessed and stunning looks of Flanagan, Godz was beset with too many problems and failed to attract a steady audience. In 2015 and then again in 2018 the site changed hands. A few changes were implemented but Godz never hit the high spots of it's original TV ads. The current owners, LeoVegas Gaming Limited, have now decided that the brand has run it's course.

Bingo Godz isn't the only brand that's heading to the dustbin. Sister sites Bingo Loopy and Bingos.co.uk are also closing their virtual doors. Loopy hasn't ever really made an impact in the online arena, but the end of Bingos.co.uk is another sad moment. Bingos.co.uk has been around for many years and once even featured Kerry Katona as a celebrity endorsement.

Online Bingo Struggles

This leaves just Crown Bingo and Bingo Stars in the LeoVegas Gaming Limited stable. Interestingly none of the closing brands suggest joining either Crown or Stars which makes us fear for their future too. LeoVegas is focused on casino and slots - and with bingo struggling on the ropes it wouldn't be a surprise to see LeoVegas drop bingo altogether.

In terms of a bigger picture, it does show that online bingo is in decline. Groups are now dropping brands that aren't performing. We've already seen Cashcade bin off ITV, Telly Talk, Rollover etc. With over 400 bingo brands still in operation we anticipate that more closures are on their way.
