Gambling Firms Introduce Easier & Fairer Withdrawal Terms

Published On 29th August 2018

If you're a regular casino or slots player then you may well be pretty versed in withdrawal terms and conditions. Some casinos are pretty good and make it easy for you to get at your winnings in one go. Others are less accommodating and employ terms that force players to make withdrawals over long periods of time. The good news is that that is all about to change.

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) have been working closely with The UK Gambling Commission to ensure fair play for players. One area they've been looking into is the withdrawal of funds. Providers such as Jumpman Gaming and ProgressPlay do have terms relating to withdrawals that players - and industry reviewers - find prohibitive. However, both have now agreed to remove terms that prevent players withdrawing their money all in one go.

Dormant Account Changes

In a further development, both providers have agreed to drop their dormancy terms. Players who fail to login over a period of time could lose their money - but again this has now ended. ProgressPlay have also agreed to change their times relating to confiscating player's money if they failed to meet identity check rules within a specific time period. These changes are great news for players and for the platforms involved. It should improve both Jumpman and ProgressPlay's reputation with players now they're not being penalised for winning or leaving their account dormant. Being able to withdraw all winnings should also help remove the temptation of some players to continue gambling simply because they can't access what is rightfully their money.

Other Platforms To Follow Suit

At time of writing it's unclear whether ProgressPlay or Jumpman have already implemented these changes. However we can't locate any dormancy information with respect to Jumpman. In addition, we do know that Jumpman have changed their withdrawal terms recently - you now no longer have to wager £100 before you can make a withdrawal. However, their sites do still indicate daily withdrawal limits of £5000. It is expected that other platforms will also heed the CMA findings and adopt similar withdrawal and dormancy policies. With that in mind, it'll be interesting to see how these changes effect brands using ProgressPlay and Jumpman. It'll also be interesting to see how players react too.
