More Bingo Sites To Close On 26th March
Published On 17th March 2025
Since purchasing the Dragonfish Network from 888 way back in 2021, Broadway Gaming have slowly but surely been acquiring pretty much every site and affiliate network associated with the platform ever since. One such network was the one own by Silverspin Partners. This group included the well known Bubble Bonus Bingo, the as seen on TV Diva Bingo, the one with the horrendous TV ad Nutty Bingo, and our favourite duck inspired site, other than Loquax, Duck Duck Bingo. The good news is that these sites continue to exist in The Broadway Games ecosphere however it's not good news for a handful of their sister sites. Bingorella, Woolly Bingo, Live Bingo, Aunt Bevs, Candy Shop Bingo, Total Gold and Cobalt Kings are all closing their doors as of the 26th March 2025.
Remember To Withdraw Funds
Visitors to Bingorella, Woolly Bingo, Live Bingo, Aunt Bevs, Candy Shop Bingo, Total Gold and Cobalt Kings are currently being greeted with an "Important Announcement" message stating that the site is closing down as of the 26/3/2025. No details are provided as to why the sites are closing but players are advised to login and withdraw funds. It's not clear whether you can still wager on these sites up to the closure. There's also no information on any of the sites regarding what will happen if you don't withdraw funds and/or who to contact if you do miss the deadline. We suggest that if you've ever deposited on any of the named sites then make sure you have no funds remaining. Presumably after the deadline date the sites will redirect to one of Broadway Gaming's larger brands which usually is Wink Bingo, 888 Ladies or Costa Bingo. We'd be very surprised to see any of these brands redirect to Bubble Bonus or Lucky Charms.
A History Of The Closing Down
The sites that are closing are probably ones that many bingo players wouldn't have heard about. As far as we're aware none of them ran TV ad campaigns or did anything of particular note. Live Bingo we believe started life on the old Cozy Games platform when they dabbled a bit with actual studio live bingo. It opened as a Dragonfish brand after the closure of the old network. Woolly Bingo was a sheep themed site that kind of lost it's identity when The UKGC decided that cartoon animals were key ingredients in convincing young people to wager on sites that they couldn't register with unless they were over 18. Interestingly whilst cartoon sheep were bad, a brand called Candy Shop Bingo was fine! One mystery that will be etched in bingo folklore for ever following this round of closures is just who was Aunt Bev and why did she have a bingo site? If anyone does know the story behind Aunt Bev then let us know!
Over 200 Bingo Brands
According to The Gambling Commission website Broadway Gaming Ireland DF Limited have over 200 domain names associated with their licence. The closure of six sites isn't going to make too much impact on that list. However we suspect that there are plenty of candidates waiting to follow in Woolly Bingo and co's footsteps. Bubble Bonus, Bumble, Butterfly and Candy Shop are just some of the brands under the Silverspin umbrella and to be fair none of them are 'A' Listers. In fact scanning through the list of domains it's hard to spot many brands that have made any serious impact on online bingo and/or who still have much reputation today. Most certainly none of them seem to be actively advertising. It might sound harsh but if the majority of them closed then they probably wouldn't be missed. We suspect that over the next few months we'll be updating with news of another bunch of closures. Mind you we're still surprised that the likes of Posh, Redbus, Tasty and City Bingo continue to exist with their retro designed sites. It's almost as though they've been forgotten about!
Less Players?
When you login to a Broadway Gaming site, for example Wink Bingo or Moon Bingo, then it's not difficult to understand why brands are being closed. Login to Mecca Bingo and you see that many of the rooms are busy with plenty of roomies. Visit Wink at the same time and the main 75 and 90 ball rooms are struggling to bring in players. At time of writing more players were in Mecca's 90 Ball Loose Women room than in Broadway's flagship rooms combined. In fact at a push the Loose Women room had more players than every active room (i.e. a game playing every few minutes) on Wink. This on a platform with over 200 doors all leading to the same room. Shutting a few of those doors isn't going to make much of a difference to the overall picture but even the big names like Wink, 888 Ladies etc obviously aren't pulling in the punters. It does make us wonder what is going on in terms of player numbers and interest. We had hoped that the partnership with Progress Play and Playtech was a sign of green shoots for online bingo, but perhaps there's still a lot of weeds to be pulled up first.
