Broadway Gaming Spring Clean Player Accounts

It's been almost a year since Broadway Gaming took over ownership of the former Dragonfish platform and some associated bingo brands such as Costa, 888 Ladies, Wink and Posh. Over that period there's not been a lot to get excited about in player or bingo portal terms, which has been a massive surprise. What has happened is that there's been a huge alignment amongst many brands, a reduction of rooms and differences between the real money (no wagering) and traditional (wagering) networks diminished. There has been some changes with respect to welcome offers and a handful of closures too. The limited number of closures though has been a surprise as we'd expected there to be some serious wholesale changes. But in that respect it could be early days as Broadway Gaming are making some important changes to player accounts, and these changes may effect you if you have multiple accounts across networked brands.

We Will Limit The Number Of Accounts

As a reviewer of bingo sites we've opened up various accounts across a wide range of brands, including those now with Broadway Gaming. This allows us to see what a particular brand offers and also how it may differ from others. This hasn't ever been an issue but as of June 2023 Broadway Gaming are now closing accounts where they're linked to the same player. In the email they state that after "a review of your account we have noticed that you have opened a number of linked accounts across other brands on our licence, Grand Battery Holdings Limited. From a player protection standpoint, we will limit the number of accounts you can have active at any one time". As a consequence of the review 'xyz' account has been closed. As far as we know the accounts have been closed without notice. However the accounts that are being closed - at least from what we can tell - all have no deposits and haven't been accessed for some time so that suggests the move is actually to remove all dormant accounts from their books.

Closures Across All Networks

The account closures aren't just limited to the original Dragonfish Network. If Broadway Gaming can link you to accounts on other platforms such as Real Money and Slots then these too will be terminated provided they're dormant. In some ways this is useful bit of spring cleaning by Broadway Gaming as they can focus their efforts on active players and not dormant ones who have zero interest in depositing. This will also demonstrate responsibility in terms of player protection and compliance. This isn't great news for players though because it actually tells us that Broadway Gaming aren't going to be developing multiple brands offering different things. The fundamental bingo product and slots will be pretty much the same regardless of which site you choose. Variations on these brands will only stem from different networks such as Moon and Maxi, but even they're not deviating too far from the bog standard site. In comparison, in the hey day of online bingo there were different games, jackpots and promotions across multiple brands. Now it seems like you'll be only be able to join one site on this platform. That means limited promotions, limited games and the opportunity to collect only one welcome offer.

What Next For Broadway Gaming?

Twelve months on and we're still waiting for something big from Broadway Gaming. As mentioned above we had expected to see the closure of a number of brands. A few Tau Gaming sites have shut their doors but it's unclear how attractive Daisy, Bingo Heart, Wish, Angry etc are to players. They're not exactly offering anything new and the rooms across the network are relatively quiet. For example at time of writing the Top Of The Shop 90 ball room had just 20 players. That's 20 players across many big names like 888 Ladies, Costa and Wink. So what's next for Broadway Gaming? Well we're going to hedge our bets and say that site closures will be next on the agenda. There are just too many brands on the platform that have stagnated and show no sign of life. Once dormant player accounts have been closed then Broadway should be able to see just which sites are bringing in paying players and which aren't (although to be fair you'd have thought they'd have done this already). However the platform needs something new, exciting and attractive to re-engage players. As a platform Dragonfish has been in the weeds for several years. We'd hope the new owners would breathe new life into it but so far it's been same old same old.
