Bong! Jumpman Monthly Prize Draw Goes Missing

A new month and new year usually brings out some exciting promotions on bingo and slots brands. In the past we've seen things like January Sales or exciting prize offers and games to coincide with new advertising campaigns. These days things are a lot quieter and most certainly you don't see fun adverts such as Foxy's You're The One That I Want, Mecca's Dancing Cactus and Jackpotjoy's Racing Grannies. Those were the days. However there are still some slot brands using the small screen to advertise themselves and this week we noticed an ad for Big Ben Slots. Now what made us sit up and notice this particular advert wasn't the content but the fact that the brand is one of over 200+ sites that uses the Jumpman Platform.

About Big Ben Slots

Big Ben Slots isn't new to the Jumpman Network and launched around the same time as Express Wins and OK Bingo back in 2020. The advert is cartoon based and highlights various features on the site along with bongs from the famous landmark. There's a nice little poem at the end with "Join and Play at BigBenSlots.co.uk". But it's pretty unusual to see any Jumpman brands resort to TV advertising and from our experience it takes a brave partner to spend money in this way as we don't think it'd be good value, especially on 2/3 year old brand on this platform. What tends to happen with Jumpman sites is that they run for a couple of years and then the partner - perhaps with encouragement from Jumpman - launches another site. This is then promoted to the database of the first and then further down the line up mushrooms another site and the process continues. Essentially rinse and repeat multiple times. By trying the TV ad route it looks like Big Ben Slots are looking to build a name for themselves - a tough ask in a tough market - or perhaps just wanted to "cash in" on the New Year's TV with the Big Ben association.

What's On The Jumpman Platform?

Kudos for them for trying something different although it's not something we'd have thought would be great value. This is more to do with the product on offer though. Jumpman does have a good range of slots and jackpots but nothing that can't be found elsewhere and on better more recognisable brands; there are limited options when it comes to live casino and game shows despite recent new additions; the bingo that's powered by Pragmatic Play is OK but as we've mentioned before the likes of Heart do it better, have more options and offer bingo players a welcome bonus. The Jumpman welcome bonus itself is slots orientated and comes with a hefty x65 wagering term. You have to pay to withdraw your money and the network promotions are fairly limited. Exclusives are very rare with only the current £10,000 Winter Promotion across Reach Gaming's brands at the likes of Mirror Bingo, Star Wins, Express Wins etc coming to mind. Small brands are always going to struggle in the promos stakes against William Hill Vegas, Paddy Power Games, PlayOJO, Gala, Mecca, Jackpotjoy etc but the occasional exclusive can help them stand out amongst similar sized opposition.

Monthly Prize Draw Goes AWOL?

One thing during 2022 that gave Jumpman brands an angle for promotion was a monthly network prize draw. This giveaway featured a slot of the month and prizes worth up to £3000 such as iPads, vouchers and jewellery. Players could also accept a cash alternative if they weren't too keen on the tangible prize. To enter the draw players would have to opt-in and wager £10 to earn one entry. This month (January 2023) there's no such prize draw which makes us wonder whether it's gone AWOL for one month only or whether it's quietly been dropped for good, perhaps to having limited value or costing too much to run? We're hoping that it's back for February and/or something new is put in it's place. Or even better individual brands start to take matters into their own hands and offer their own exclusives promos. The quandary here is that - and perhaps this will also be the case for Big Ben Slots - spending money on advertising and promotions does not guarantee success, income or players who stay engaged with the platform. The latter comes down to the quality of Jumpman! With Cozy Games gone and Grace Media seemingly closing for good it does seem the days of pile-em high networks could be coming to an end. It'll be interesting to see if dropping promotions and/or TV ads are enough to keep players interested in what Jumpman has to offer in 2023.
