Umbingo Relaunches With Jumpman Gaming

2019 has been a rollercoaster year for Umbingo.com! They launched in February 2019 on the Real Money Dragonfish platform but the brand alongside the look of the website raised a few eyebrows here at Loquax HQ. We felt that it edged far too close to the branding of a popular soft drink for children. However just six months later this wasn't an issue as the site closed down.
Back in August we hypothesised that the closure could well be due to some kind of trademark issue. However it looks like we were wrong because Umbingo is back in the game but this time on the Jumpman powered 15 Network. The site joins numerous new additions, such as Aztec Wins and Zeus Bingo, to the platform. The new design of Umbingo is better - and unusually for a Jumpman brand - features bingo rooms ahead of the slots. But in our view it's still a vowel far too close to the popular children's drink.
Casper Games
However, this kind of thing doesn't seem to be an issue - at least not yet - for The UKGC. Other brands that currently exist in the slots and bingo space include Avenger Slots, Gotham Slots, Aladdin Slots and Simba Slots. These will soon be joined by Casper Games. Now you could argue that these brands aren't deliberately attaching themselves to Disney and other movie themes, but surely a few are sailing far too close to the wind?
Perhaps not! We know that there are a whole bunch of DC themed slots on Playtech brands. Amongst the many games you can play are Batman, Superman and Green Lantern. Head over to Mecca Bingo or other sites and you'll also be able to play Casper's Mystery Mirror slot. Players are encouraged to "have fun with everybody's favourite fictional ghost". Given that these games are available perhaps this means it's OK for the likes of Casper Games to exist?
New Sites
All that aside, the arrival of the likes of Umbingo, Casper Games and Aztec Wins means that the Jumpman Network now boasts 166 different brands. Other new additions include Lady Riches, Slots Racer Heart Of Casino and Touch Spins. Some of these brands are additions to BigWin, Galaxy and Jackpot affiliate networks. All of which already host other sites that utilise the Jumpman platform.
What we can deduce from all this is that Umbingo obviously didn't perform well on the Real Money Dragonfish platform. If it was a trademark issue then the site couldn't relaunch! With Bgo.com moving it's welcome offer for new players away from no wagering - we do wonder whether bingo players actually prefer the old school bonus set up. Either way we still don't think Umbingo.com is a good name for a bingo brand. We wonder how long this new incarnation will last?
