Bogof Bingo To Close In April

So far this year we've seen closures on most platforms including Dragonfish, Cozy Games and Jumpman. Now there's a brand using the Virtue Fusion software also heading for the exit door. BOGOF Bingo, a sister brand to Bucky, has decided to call it a day and will close it's virtual doors to players on the 11th April 2019.

If you have funds in a BOGOF Bingo account then you're encouraged to withdraw those funds as soon as possible. Login before the 11th April 2019 and make sure you withdraw your money. After that it's unclear what will happen, although we suspect that they'll be a holding page explaining who to contact should you miss the deadline.

The demise of BOGOF is no big surprise. In our review of the site we commented that more attention had been lavished on Bucky Bingo and that BOGOF just seemed to sit awkwardly as a brand. Despite boasting BOGOF in it's title it actually had few if any BOGOF games. When compared to other brands on Virtue Fusion's platform there was very little to entice players to the site.

Despite this BOGOF has lasted an incredible 10 years online. It will also be forever known as the brand that had Britain's Got Talent's DJ Talent as it's celebrity endorser. And it'll also be forever known for it's catchy advert featuring DJ Talent: "you say BOGOF, I say bingo". Here it is again for old time's sake

2019 has already seen the closure of a number of bingo brands and the end is not yet in sight. An increase in the point of consumption taxation is soon to be implemented and that will determine more winners and losers.

We also know that a number of Cozy Games brands are due to close their doors in May. These do include our own Snappy Bingo, but we suspect that we'll become aware of more closures nearer the time. On the plus side, the majority of closures are for sites that have ran their course. The time to worry will be when new sites stop emerging and a big name falls by the way side.
