Sun Bingo Sponsor The Jeremy Kyle Show
Published On 19th July 2018
There's been mixed fortunes for The Sun's gambling brands this week. Sun Bets, the home of it's sportsbook and casino channels, has announced it's closing down with immediate effect. However, it's Sun Bingo brand continues to grow and this week has become the new sponsor of The Jeremy Kyle Show.
Bingo and The Jeremy Kyle Show have become like chalk and cheese. For a number of years Foxy Bingo - and occasionally Cheeky or Think - were sponsors of the show. That all changed in 2017 when Foxy terminated the relationship and Slingo Boom took over the spot.
Jeremy Kyle - Are You Gonna Bingo?
Now it's the turn of Sun Bingo who are bring their "Are You Gonna Bingo" campaign to the Kyle audience. They have also brought back Jayde Adams, the star of their TV advert, to appear in the idents - or bumpers - that appear during the show. Her co-stars from the TV advert are also involved.
We've not seen any of the Kyle/Sun Bingo adverts as yet so we turned to Twitter to see whether we could gauge the reaction. First off @CampaignBrands and a number of similar accounts tweeted a still from one of the ads. The catchline is "He Traded His Car For A Cup Of Tea". Another one we spotted was "Half A Century Older Than My Fella".

— Campaign: Brands (@CampaignBrands) July 17, 2018These obviously have a bingo connection - Cup Of Tea and Half A Century are bingo calls. However from first impressions the straplines are just not that funny nor keeping in with the style of the show. Judging by the following tweets, viewers aren't that impressed with what they've seen either.
#jeremykyle show sponsored by THE SUN bingo...........trash sponsoring trash!
— Richard O'Neill (@richoneill282) July 16, 2018Twitter user @Mysteron_Voice also joins the dots regarding the adverts and The Kyle audience. Does he have a point?
Those numpties from Sun Bingo sponsor the #jeremykyle show.

That's what they think of us as a target audience …
😳😳😳
@anon_gables1 isn't impressed with the adverts...
Anyone else want to smother that woman in her tacky coat on the sun bingo sponsored ads? #jeremykyle

But they don't quite go as far as @ScattercashLady. To be honest we'd happily listen to Are You Gonna Bingo on repeat for 24/7 rather than those Nationwide singing sisters.
not wishing to be mean but if the Nationwide singing sisters received death threats, i wouldn't want to be in Sun Bingo's fake leopardskin woman's shoes #jeremykyle

Making a better point about the sponsors of the show is @TheEeshKebab. It's something we've always wondered about - even more so when Jeremy Kyle himself had a gambling addiction.
I love @itvjeremykyle & always will be a fan of the show. However, it makes me laugh that one of things they help people with is addictions- such as gambling... and then their sponsors are always gambling sites. foxybingo, slingo boom and now sun bingo. Oh the irony 😂😂😂

It's not all bad news for Jayde and Sun Bingo - at least one person loves them!!
Love the lady from the sun bingo advert 😭😂

It's not known how long Sun Bingo will sponsor The Jeremy Kyle Show. However, according to reports "the sponsorship will be additionally supported with exclusive social media inventory" (SBCNews). What this entails remains to be seen, but with The UKGC looking to quash gambling advertising it'll be interesting to see how this is done during daytime TV hours.
