Who Are The Big Winners Of Bingo

If you regularly play online bingo you always love to know who's winning, especially if luck isn't coming your way. And knowing who's won is even more important when a big jackpot falls. There have been some massive winners over at Jackpotjoy over the years, but according to The Sunday Times three guys have been especially lucky from the site!

Noel Hayden, Robin Tombs and Andrew Dixon hit the jackpot with a massive share of a £10million dividend according to The Sunday Times report. The three guys own two thirds of Gamesys, the company behind Jackpotjoy and who also power sites for Sun Bingo, Virgin Games and Heart.

The report explains that profits at Gamesys rose 27% to £181.5m which resulted in a pre-tax profit of £43.6m. These figures represent the year up to March 2013 and it will be interesting to see how the subsequent year compares. The fact that Jackpotjoy have returned to the marketing agency that introduced The Queen of Bingo may suggest that perhaps JPJ's performance wasn't quite up to expectation?

Of course it may also be true that the market is becoming ever more competitive. Costa Bingo for example have allegedly invested £12million in their Mel B campaign and that kind of thing does have a knock on effect to larger brands who need to fight to retain players as well as bring in new ones. Jackpotjoy were quick out the blocks though this year and we think they'll be working hard to be top dog.

Aside from JPJ, Gamesys also manage sites for Sun Bingo, Heart Bingo, Caesars Bingo, Fabulous Bingo and Virgin Games. We'd like to see all sites step up a bit in 2014 and offer players more. Although The Sunday Times reports that Gamesys was helped by the acquisition of Virgin Games, we're not convinced the site which once boasted casino, poker and bingo channels, is as good as it originally was when it ran on Virtue Fusion.

We'd be surprised to see another UK powered site from Gamesys in 2014. It'd be nice to see but other European territories may be targeted. Jackpotjoy has sites in both Sweden and Italy whilst Spain is represented with Botemania and the recently launched Canal Bingo. With these kinds of developments it's perhaps no wonder that almost £70m has been paid out in dividends in the last five years and it does show that there are big winners with online bingo!
