Destinations
Mixed in with the above though are some very cleverly designed games. Destinations uses an airport destination board as the vehicle for the scratchcard. Players have seven destinations listed on their game board, each representing a different payout. Letters from the destinations are missing so the aim of the game is to complete the missing elements. In order to do this 20 letter panels reveal coloured letters that may corrspond with the destination board. Complete a destination and you win between x1 to x500 your initial wager. As with other scratchcards there's also a bonus round element. The bonus round actually comprises a luggage collection conveyor belt. Bags get knocked off and end up in lost luggage and these help to determine your prize. What we like about Destinations is that it doesn't feel like a scratchcard although ultimately it is. It's very well designed and enjoyable to play.
Dominoes
Dominoes is another innovative addition to the Tombola Arcade Scratch section. It comprises of nine panels, exactly the same as it's sister games, but behind each panel is a domino. The aim of the game is to match five of the same numbers (1 to 6). Five 1s will bank you a x1 win whilst it's x500 for completing the sixes. If by chance you draw a double blank then you get access to the Dominoes bonus round. In this round you drag and drop dominoes from a pile. Match dominoes to continue the bonus round and build up your win. The round concludes when you can't match anything. This is a gentle game and it's great to see dominoes being used so well. The only downside with this particular game is that the bigger wins can be very elusive.
Boost
Our final featured scratchcard at Tombola Arcade is Boost. The name of the game doesn't really give much insight into it's theme! Sadly it has nothing to do with chocolate bars. Instead Boost is all about energy and the symbols involved in the game represent wind, fire, hydro, electric, solar and nuclear. Boost has 12 panels for you to remove and the aim of the game is to match four of a kind. The design of Boost is excellent and we love the way the symbols are revealed via energy moving along a network. Unlike most other Tombola Scratch games there's no bonus round element in this particular game. Instead players can get a boosted symbol which counts double. A similar mechanic is adopted by Paradise, a scratchcard which features exotic birds and is well worth checking out too.
