There are two main versions of roulette: European Roulette and American Roulette. You should aim to play European Roulette as there is only one green 0 and the house's edge (2.7%) is reduced compared to the double 0 American roulette version (5.4%). Players can make Inside Bets, betting on individual or groups of numbers, which offer higher returns or Outside Bets, betting on colours, odds/evens, columns etc, that offer lower returns. There is no strategy to playing roulette other than your own methodology. You cannot influence the result in your favour as all spins of the wheel are independent events of chance. Special Bets allow more complex betting patterns to be laid. Amongst these are Neighbour Bets, Voisins du Zero, Tiers du Cylindre, Finale Plein and Finale Cheval. Always Bet On The Same Colour

Amongst the most popular roulette strategy guides is the simple follow the colours rule. This works as follows: Bet £1 on black, if red falls then redo your bet but double the stake. If red falls again then double up on black again. Adopt the approach so on and so forth until a black number eventually falls. It's basic but you'll find that a lot of online roulette strategy guides want to charge you for such information.

You may not want to try the above strategy or actually would prefer a more developed approach. You can save yourself time and money by researching online, but what we found were quite a number of sites that were more interested in you buying or downloading something.
