Monopoly Big Baller Review
The quest for a live bingo game continues but at the moment in time Live Game Shows such as Mega Ball are as close as it gets. Joining the battle is a brand new game from Evolution Gaming which combines Mega Ball with Monopoly. Monopoly Big Baller Live is the latest addition to many slots and bingo brands' Live Casino sections and it combines a bingo meets keno game with Monopoly. The aim of the game is to complete lines to win multipliers on up to four cards whilst you can also bet on whether a bonus round will be activated which then takes you to the Monopoly element of the game. About Monopoly Big Baller?
Monopoly Big Baller is set on board a virtual paddle steamer. A waterfall can be seen in the background as well as a Monopoly sign and what looks like some kind of hotel complex. On board the ship is a presenter who do their best to commentate on proceedings. They're joined by an animated Mr Moneybags who for this particular game has taken on the role of Captain. The graphics are actually pretty good and Mr Moneybags moves around seamlessly. Completing the line-up is a lottery style ball generator which naturally takes centre stage once the betting round is complete. To the left of the screen is a chat area where you can interact with the host whilst game controls can be found at the top right of the screen (on desktop).
How To Play Monopoly Big Baller
To play Monopoly Big Baller you first need to purchase cards. You can purchase up to four numbered cards and up to two bonus cards. The numbered cards initially are shown as two green - free space cards - and two gold which are chance cards. You can toggle the button at the bottom left of the cards to switch between free space and chance. Both versions contain 25 numbers in a 5x5 grid but with the free space cards the middle number is covered. On the chance cards the middle number isn't covered but assigned a multiplier. Basically the idea is that gold cards are harder to win on but offer bigger rewards. Wagering starts from 10p and you can assign coins to 1, 2, 3 or 4 cards per round. In addition you can choose to bet on the Monopoly Bonus Cards. There's a 3 and 5 roll bonus card and in order to win with these you need to cover 3 or 4 numbers. Again you can wager from 10p.
Winning On Monopoly Big Baller
Before the game gets underway Mr Moneybags works his 'magic' and random individual balls and/or lines on the numbered cards are assigned extra multipliers. In addition a number of spaces are covered - numbers on the bonus cards can also be covered if Mr Moneybags is feeling very generous! Once all this is done then the balls start to roll. Within the number machine are 60 balls and 20 are drawn in each game. The aim of the game is to complete lines in order to win prizes. If you complete a line on a numbered card then this wins a x3 multiplier - although the prize increases if you cover multiplier balls within the win line. It is possible to win more than once on an individual card. If you coverall the numbers on one of the bonus cards then this activates the Monopoly Board bonus round.
The Bonus Round
If you've bet on a bonus card and by some miracle it's activated then you head to the Monopoly Board. With three rolls you get three rolls of the dice and it's five rolls of the dice for five rolls. During the bonus round you will move around the board hopefully collecting multipliers and generating a big win. Roll a double and you get a free spin. We would love to tell you more about this particular element of Monopoly Big Baller but it's quite a rarity. During our trial play we didn't get close to the bonus and the presenter constantly reminded players that it had only been activated once in the last hour. However we believe a player then reminded her that it had actually only shown up once in the previous three hours! That's not a great and could impact long term player interest in Monopoly Big Baller.
Our Verdict
We enjoyed playing Big Baller especially as it does feel very bingo orientated with the number cards and number generator. For our trial period we wagered on all six cards (2 free space, 2 chance and 2 bonus) and picked up a few line wins at x3 plus a couple of bigger wins around x30. However it isn't an easy game to win on especially when it came to the bonus round. In our view they don't turn up enough to warrant wagering on - the round that the presenter mentioned generated a x20 multiplier win which doesn't feel ample reward. We're not sure if there's any strategy involved with Big Baller but our advice would be not to wager too highly on the bonus cards. Switching free space cards to chance cards seems just a fun option rather than a worthwhile strategic move. Again tailor wagering accordingly. The biggest criticism of Monopoly Big Baller, other than the lack of bonus rounds, is that it feels a bit rushed. The game is very quick and then there's about 10 seconds before the next round. It's designed to keep you playing the same wagers but we would like a few seconds more.
