Britains Got Talent Slingo Review

Britain's Got Talent is back on the TV so we thought it was high time to check out the BGT themed game over at Slingo. Slingo, in case you're unaware, is the slots meets bingo mash up game. You play the traditional game on a 5x5 grid and cross off numbers as they spin on reels. The aim of the game is to complete lines in order to win cash prizes. So what does a Britain's Got Talent themed version of the game bring to the party? Is this a game that deserves a golden buzzer or does it deserve four red crosses and filed under "best forgotten about".

Britain's Got Talent Slingo

How To Play BGT Slingo

Unfortunately it's the latter but it's not because it's a bad game. The problem is this is simply Slingo Riches branded as Slingo Britain's Got Talent. There's absolutely nothing different between the two games and beyond the title no reference to the very programme that themes the game and a few graphical changes. If you've not played before then here's how it works: you can play Slingo Britain's Got Talent from 50p a game. Once you've made your bet you then have 11 spins, each of which generates a set of five numbers. Any numbers that correspond to your game card are crossed off! If you complete a line then you have a Slingo. The more lines you achieve then the bigger the prize. At the end of the game you're invited to gamble on to try and achieve a bigger win.

Where's The Red Buzzer?

When we played Slingo Britain's Got Talent we expected something akin to Slingo Deal Or No Deal. Granted the latter lends itself better to slots, scratchcards and other games, but BGT has been successfully utilised as a bingo game. In BGT Bingo at Mecca there's a special bonus round which links the traditional game to the TV show. We've seen a lot of TV themed bingo and slot games over the years and they're often hit and miss, but BGT Slingo is probably one of the poorest efforts we've seen. With BGT Slingo there's just nothing of merit to make it worth choosing over other versions. There's no utilisation of the gold and red buzzers or any sign of a bonus round that would differentiate the game.

It's A No From Us!

We love Slingo as a game, and do love the Deal Or No Deal version, but sadly BGT Slingo gets all four red buzzers from us - and if we had more then we'd be pressing them too!
