Craps & Dice Games
The game of Craps is an exciting game of chance, popular since the times of the Romans. The objective of Craps is to predict the outcome of a roll of the dice. Players can bet to win or for the dealer to win. Before each round you are asked to choose where you'd like to place your chips. There are a number of options including betting on the actual dice rolled, totals etc. Each possible roll of the dice has different odds so you can opt to play safe or aim for double sixes which pays out at 30/1.
At first glance Craps seems like a seemingly straightforward game, but it's got a lot more to it. From one roll bets, big 6s and big 8s, hardway, lay bets, place to win, come odds and don't come odds there's a lot to take in. There are a number of strategy guides online (Wizards Of Odds and Craps Forward) and the consensus for beginners is to understand about the house edge and concentrate on the simple pass line bet. Once you're comfortable with that approach then consider looking towards Come/Don't Come Odds and then more complex approaches.
Casino Dice
Our advice, as with all casino games, is to play demo versions and figure out how the game works before starting to place real money bets. The worst thing a player can do is jump straight into a game and not understand the basic approach. Unfortunately we don't have a free version of Craps to share with you but we do have a similar game - Casino Dice - that you can take a look at courtesy of Sky Vegas.
Casino Dice is a simpler version of Craps. There are 14 possible simple bets available including total score on the dice and whether the score will be in the lower, middle or high ranges. In addition you can bet across numbers (e.g. 5 to 6, 7 to 8 etc). It's an ideal game if you're not overly keen on the more complex Craps table. If you do get lucky you can gamble your winnings in a Hi-Lo game based on further rolls of the two dice. However, it's worth noting that the odds for Casino Dice are not as good compared to those offered on Craps.
Sic Bo
Another popular dice game is Sic Bo. This originates from China and remains popular amongst casinos in and around Asia. The main difference between Sic Bo and Craps, other than the number of dice involved, is that in Craps not all bets are available on every roll. Some bets only come into play on certain rolls and therefore it's deemed that Craps is a more strategic game.
