Gaming Realms are continuing along their 2022 roadmap of releasing a new title each month with the launch of another title in association with King Show Games. Following Lobstermania into the stable is Stinkin Rich Slingo which combines the popular slots/number game and the original Stinkin Rich slot. The star of the show is Richard The Skunk who watches proceedings from the bottom left of the screen. Stinkin Rich Slingo is a very colourful looking game. It does seem quite busy with stacks of gold coins in the background and bright purples and pink dominating the foreground. However the colours and design are reflective of the original game. Richard The Skunk can be seen at the bottom left of the screen and he looks quite chilled watching the 5x5 grid which features in the middle of the screen. To the left of the grid is the paytable whilst the start button and options button can be seen to the right. At the top of the screen you'll see three jackpots - Filthy Rich, Stinkin Rich and Smelly Rich. Wagering on this version of Slingo, which can be set by selecting the gold cash button, starts at 20p. This can be increased up to a maximum of £2 although this is based on the game being hosted at Jackpotjoy who are claiming exclusivity of the game at time of writing. The minimum and maximum wager may vary from site to site.
How To Play Stinkin Rich Slingo
The aim of Stinkin Rich Slingo is to create winning lines - horizontal, vertical or diagonal - of five numbers. The more lines you complete the higher the prize you can win. At the start of the game you have just 10 spins which is typical for most versions of the game. On each spin the individual reels may reveal a number and if these match any on your playing card then they're removed. Numbers are marked with a lovely gold star so you can see your progress. Spins of the reels are automated so you don't have to do get too involved with the game play. Unlike other variants of Slingo this version has two numbers already marked - top centre and bottom centre - and this mirrors the slot's 55-3-55 set up. This means you only need three numbers to get the middle line or four numbers for the top and bottom lines. This does add a bit of strategy to game play when super wilds and wilds come into play.
Bonus Spins
Wilds and Super Wilds are represented by Richard The Skunk who makes an excited squeaky sound whenever the wilds show on the reels. We've never seen a skunk so have to assume these sounds are representative of the species. Anyway wilds allow you to select numbers on your game card to cross off and as mentioned you might want to consider your game strategy. Jokers are in this particular version and are represented by smelly trainers. Additionally you may get a free spin ball which allows another spin at the end of the game. To win on Stinkin Rich Slingo you need to create a minimum of five lines. This will earn you a play on the Trash Cans bonus game. However like other variants of the game you are encouraged to spin on for the chance to get a bigger prize. You are limited to a maximum of 40 extra spins but do remember each spin does require an extra wager.
The Bonus Games
Stinkin Rich Slingo has two bonus games. Trash Cans and Keys To Riches. The latter is the easiest one to explain as it's simply a slot version of the Stinkin Rich game. Climb the paytable to 6, 8, or 10 lines to enjoy 5, 10 or 15 free spins. The latter also comes with a x2 multiplier. Get 5, 7 or 9 lines and you get to pick from 2, 3 or 4 trash cans. Select a trash can to reveal a multiplier. All other cans are then opened and together with the multiplier combine for your win. If you get a full house then you can choose either to play 20 free spins with a x3 multiplier or five trash cans. As well as the bonus games Stinkin Rich Slingo also has a jackpot element. Get 3, 4 or 5 Jackpot overlays on the spinning reels during the base game to win one of the respective jackpots that are available. The Stinkin' Rich jackpot is x1000 your initial wager.
Our Verdict
Whilst we were initially wary of Stinkin Rich Slingo because of it's slightly busy design we did find that after a few spins that it became quite a fun game to play. Those who are familiar with the original slot will love it straightaway! The marked off squares do add an interesting element of strategy to proceedings although we do kind of wonder how much, if any, strategy does really play in any game of Slingo. Because of the marked off numbers the number of lines for a win does increase and we did find that more often than not you do need to wager on. However the amounts required to wager after five lines were typically so high that it was sensible to take the trash can bonus win. The bonus rounds are fun but because you're not too sure of the prize value this can also influence your decision to wager on. Overall this is a fun version of Slingo but we think reaching the higher ends of the paytable may be either very difficult or very costly to the player.
