Slingo Super Spin Review
Just before Slingo Originals released their Racing theme game another version was also added to the roster. We held back on reviewing this version just to see if another bingo portal would report on it before we did. Guess what? They didn't! Make of that what you will dear readers. Anyway the next version of Slingo that's hitting the charts is called Slingo Super Spin. It's the basic version of the game but to make things more interesting there's a sixth reel in play. There's the usual wilds and super wilds to help you build up winning lines too. But is it a surefire hit or will this version struggle to be top of the pops?
Slingo Super Spin is a jazzy looking version of the game. It's designed as a DJ deck with a record player linking up the five reels and sixth extra reel in a clever way. The 5x5 grid sits pretty boldly in the gaming area with it's purple colour scheme that looks very attractive and works well in contrast to the green coloured reel squares. The pay table sits to the left of the screen and that's pretty much it. The game buttons are located at the right of screen. Wageringon this version of Slingo, which can be set by selecting the gold cash button, starts at 20p. This can be increased up to a maximum of £25. The minimum and maximum wager may vary from site to site.
How To Play Slingo Super Spin
In addition to being able to set the wager you can also use the in-game options to limit the number of extra spins, maximum extra spin price, total single game stake and total single game loss. These are useful tools to help you keep within your wagering boundaries. The aim of Slingo Super Spin is to create winning lines - horizontal, vertical or diagonal - of five numbers. The more lines you complete the higher the prize you can win. At the start of Slingo Super Spin you have 10 spins. On each spin the individual reels may reveal a number and if these match any on your playing card then they're removed. Numbers are marked with a lovely gold star so you can see your progress clearly. Spins of the reels are automated so you don't have to do get too involved.
Super Wilds
There is some interactivity with Slingo Super Spin. During game play you may get a wild or super wild symbol. These allow you to select numbers on your game card to cross off. Additonally there jokers that are represented by a red cross - unfortunately these mean that no number is forthcoming for that particular spin. Plus you may get a free spin ball which allows another spin at the end of the game. To win on Slingo Super Spin you need to create a minimum of four lines. This will earn you a x1 win. However like other variants of the game you are encouraged to spin on for the chance to get a bigger prize. You are limited to a maximum of 40 extra spins but do remember each spin does require an extra wager.
Win Up To x5000
The basic paytable for Super Spin is not as generous as other Slingo games. The maximum prize for completing a full house is just x250. We guess that the presence of an extra reel means you have a better chance of achieving a higher number of completed lines. However whilst the full house prize is low there is a bigger feature bonus prize available. If by some miracle you get 6 scatter symbols (wilds and super wilds) on all six reels then you'll win x5000 your initial wager. This means that if you wager the maximum of £25 then there's the possibility of winning £125,000. We wonder what the odds of that actually occurring within the game are?
Our Verdict
Visually this is a pretty decent version of Slingo and we quite like the theme as a way of incorporating the extra reel. Super Spin also has a fun soundtrack which we like too. However does the extra reel make much different to gameplay or add any level of excitement? The answer is no! When you compare this to the likes of Fire & Ice and Racing - both excellent games - then it's hard to get overly excited. The game blurb on Slingo Originals suggests that there's more ways to win on every spin, but we're not sure that's the case. You still need to get four Slingos to hit the pay table and to achieve more you nearly always seem to have to wager on. Overall it's worth a look but it's not going to be our Number One.
