Dream Bingo Closes After Just 4 Months
Published On 9th December 2024
Last month we told you that Dream Bingo had notified affiliates that it's partnership program was ending at the end of November. This move was a bit of surprise because the brand had only recently relaunced on Jumpman Gaming following a hiatus from the popular numbers game. We speculated that the brand could follow the example set by the likes of Carlton Bingo who prefer not to use affiliates. Instead, we thought, that Dream may look to podcasts and radio advertising. Something other Jumpman brands including newcomers Max Millions are undertaking. However we now know that these suggestions are wrong because Dream Bingo has closed down.
I Had A Dream
Visitors to Dream Bingo are now met with a message stating that "Dream Bingo is now closed". The message then invites the visitor to join a different site: "you can claim an exclusive Welcome Offer (new players only) at our sister site, Rainbow Spins: Win up to 500 Free Spins on 9 Pots of Gold on your first fund of just £10 or more" (wagering terms apply). If you signed up to Dream Bingo then you won't be able to login to your account - nor will you credentials work on Rainbow Spins. You'll need to create a new account to play at that site. If you believe you had funds remaining in your Dream Bingo account and want to withdraw them then you need to contact support at Jumpman Gaming. Rainbow Spins offers the same slots and bingo games that players could find at Dream Bingo but you might want to check out other Jumpman brands for more attractive welcome offers including no deposit spins.
From Dream To Nightmare Bingo
Dream Bingo returned to the fray in August 2024 and immediately turned to affiliates to propel itself back into the bingo spotlight. This usually is more than enough to kickstart the lifespan of many bingo brands so what has gone so wrong for Dream Bingo? Why has it decided to give up just a few months after launching? Is it down to the product? Did affiliates not send enough players? Were they attracting the the wrong of kind of players? Or has bingo in The UK had it's day? In many respects it could be a bit of all these questions but the simplest explanation comes down to product. Dream Bingo chose to launch on a platform with 170+ sister sites. That's fine if you can stand out from the crowd, but it offered nothing unique to players in terms of bingo, slots, welcome offer or promotions. The lack of exclusives doesn't need to be a dealbreaker but to this day we still don't understand how a brand called "XYZ Bingo" expects to attract bingo players without any bingo oriented welcome offers, free bingo games or bingo offers.
Bingo Players Have Better Options
So with no incentives to attract players, Dream Bingo had to rely on the quality of the bingo product. On all Jumpman Gaming brands bingo is provided by Pragmatic Play. This means that players can enjoy various games including Animingo, Diamond Dazzle and 90 Ball. Pragmatic Play also power bingo on brands such as Heart, Bet365, PlayOJO, Butlers, Chit Chat and LottoGo. The bigger brands, such as Heart and Bet365, have their own exclusive rooms, have chat hosts and have welcome offers, promotions and wagering terms skewed towards bingo. Jumpman Gaming is naturally skewed towards slots but that also doesn't help Dream's aspirations. Why would anyone want to play bingo - in the same rooms - or slots but on a platform that slaps a x65 wagering term on players and a platform that charges them to withdraw winnings? In other words Dream Bingo were always facing an uphill battle. But surely affiliates could help level the playing field?
A Pig In Lipstick
A pig in lipstick is still a pig! Affiliates are renowned for writing reviews that big up a bingo brand simply because they get paid more. A sad fact of life! However a quick scan of online reviews for Dream Bingo and most portrayed the site as pretty average. Firstly that's nice to see from a player point of view, but for Dream it's a nightmare because it doesn't help it's uphill battle explained above. We also have to add-in that bingo as an online pastime seems to have lost it's way. As we have alluded to in other posts, many brands now see bingo as an addition to slots to sit on the back burner rather than be the front of house product. Long gone are the days of "same old same old" new but the same as everyone else bingo site launching and being an instant hit. Dream Bingo's limited relaunch sadly demonstrates that perfectly. Unfortunately it's closure also means we'll probably see less brands willing to take their chances with online bingo as we head into 2025.
