Whilst many brands and platforms look to consolidate what they offer players, The Sun are bucking the trend by actually expanding their portfolio. Towards the end of 2023 The Sun Play relaunched on The Jumpman Gaming platform whilst Fabulous Vegas became a brand new addition to the Playtech set-up. The latter joins The Sun Bingo, The Sun Vegas and Fabulous Bingo. New brands and new sites are always welcome, especially in 2023/2024 when new launches are in incredibly short supply, but do these new additions offer anything new for players? Unfortunately the answer is no which begs the question what purpose do they serve?
The Sun Play
The Sun Play originally launched on the then Nektan platform before moving to Grace Media when they purchased Nektan. The strange thing with Play is that it arrived pretty much around the same time as The Sun Vegas which seemed to be a more appropriate sister site to the already well established The Sun Bingo. Sadly neither Play or Vegas really seemed to hit the same heights as Bingo especially when the latter started to become more slots focussed. In fact, as far as we know, The Sun Vegas is simply The Sun Bingo without Bingo. The Sun Play closed when the Grace Media Network collapsed and looked to have gone for good, but has recently been relaunched on Jumpman. It joins almost 200 different brands offering exactly the same slots, bingo, casino games and promotions. There's nothing new or exclusive and it's hard to get excited about it. In our view it also confuses things with respect to Vegas and Bingo.
Fabulous Vegas
To confuse things further The Sun have also now added Fabulous Vegas to their line-up. This is the Vegas sister brand to Fabulous Bingo which is also the sister brand to Sun Bingo. It's also a better looking version of The Sun Vegas. Are you confused yet? During the latter half of 2023 Fabulous Bingo was given a revamp which was much needed but all players got was another version of Sun Bingo. If the idea of the revamp was to have a brand that isn't closely associated with The Sun then that doesn't exactly work as exclusive rooms like The Sun Live Roulette is featured. Anyway now that bingo is revamped, Vegas has joined the party. New players joining Fabulous Vegas can a matched deposit bonus up to £100 and 50 free spins when they deposit and stake £10. This is different to the offer provided by Sun Vegas where new players are offered a 100% bonus up to £300 and no free spins. Terms and conditions apply. Could it be that The Sun is using different brands to test different offers as well as try and grab a larger share of the online gambling market?

One thing that links the Bingo and Vegas brands is that all have the same kind of spin the wheel bonuses. For example on Vegas sites you can play The Winning Reel daily. Overall, at least from our point of view, Fabulous Vegas isn't an exciting new site but it's definitely better than The Sun Play. However if you're a The Sun player it does appear that get less value for your play, which is disappointing.
