Bingo40 - Play 40 Ball Bingo

Published On 5th September 2023

Whilst other operators are cutting back on their bingo rooms, Tombola continue to expand their roster. Thankfully their latest offering is one that we can tell you about as it as it simply involves 40 balls and bingo. Mind you given the way the industry is going we'll probably not be able to mention numbers soon. Bingo40 is the name of the new addition but it isn't the first 40 ball game that's originated from the Tombola stable as it joins The Machine and PBN Bingo (sadly we can't mention it's full title). However Bingo40 is the first back to basics version and joins 30, 50, 60, 75, 80 and 90 options for players.

How To Play Bingo40

Bingo40 is another multi-stake game from Tombola. To play you first need to select your stake from 10p through to £2. All players will play in the same round regardless of the stake, but obviously players who choose higher amounts have the chance to win bigger prizes. For example if you choose 10p then the first ticket jackpot - which is awarded if the prize is won in four calls - is £50 but at a £2 stake this amount increases to £2000. Once you've purchased a ticket you're ready to play. Bingo40 offers you four chances to win as your game card consists of four different coloured tickets - pink, black, amber and teal. Each ticket comprises of a different number of numbers: 4 for pink, 8 for black, 12 for amber and 16 for teal. Numbers are called as in any other bingo game with the aim being to complete your tickets before fellow roomies in order to win the prizes. The format is pretty similar to the Bingo60 game that is also offered on site.

Bingo40 Jackpots

Each ticket has it's own base game prize but each also has it's own jackpot too. To win the pink ticket jackpot you need to call house on the pink ticket within 4 calls. It's 12 calls for the black ticket, 18 calls for the amber ticket and 22 calls for the teal one. Note that these jackpots are never shared. This means that if more than one player wins within the calls mentioned then they will each receive the full amount. Now you might be wondering does anyone ever win these particular jackpots? Well the good news is that you can see for yourself by reviewing the game history. Click on the little hamburger to find the various game options and then select 'history'. You'll see the results of recent games plus recent jackpot winners. The results not only indicate the prizes won but also the colour of the ticket.

Our Verdict

We quite enjoyed playing Bingo40. Many 30, 36 and 40 ball games tend to come under the umbrella of "speed bingo" but Bingo40 doesn't feel a rushed experience. The design is great and we like the laid back jazz lounge soundtrack that accompanies game play. As usual the only thing that's "bad" about a new Tombola game is that it attracts a large number of players and therefore limits your odds of winning. At time of writing the Bingo40 room was hosting nearly 500 players! In comparison The Machine, another 40 ball game, had under 20 players whilst PBN Bingo had just 50. Our advice is perhaps wait until the initial excitement of the launch of Bingo40 has died down and then drop in to give it a try.
