Foxy Bingo & Foxy Games Move To Shared Wallets

Published On 26th January 2023

One of the big trends in online gambling a few years back was for bingo brands to launch slots sister brands. This meant we saw the arrival of the likes of Costa Games, Wink Slots, Moon Games and Gala Spins. The latter was the most intriguing of all the new arrivals because at time of launch it shared login details and the wallet with it's bingo sister site. However something changed which meant that the two sites, Spins and Bingo, effectively separated and therefore required individual logins and registrations. That has been the status quo amongst bingo and slot partners ever since but that is all about to change. News reaches us that Foxy Bingo and Foxy Games are going to become much much closer.

Same Email & Password

According to a recent email Entain, the owners of Foxy Bingo and Foxy Games, will be bringing together the two brands. What this means is that players will be able to access both sites with the same login details and therefore can use the same email and password for both. Single log-in account details will be sent out to players next week. Once this change takes effect, any deposits and withdrawals will show as one, and players will be able to use funds across both Foxy Bingo and Foxy Games. This is an interesting development which raises a few questions about the future direction of Foxy Games and the potential for cross site access on other Entain brands. The only real difference between the two Foxy sites is that one has bingo and the other doesn't. Therefore it does pose the question why have two brands? If those two brands under the Foxy umbrella become more closely aligned then it raises that question even further? Therefore could we see Foxy Bingo become more bingo focused whilst the slots elements become associated with Games? Or is this the start of a process to phase out Foxy Games altogether? Only time will tell.

One Account One Wallet One Platform

Of course nothing may change and Foxy Games and Foxy Bingo will continue to exist as they are going forward - a bit like Tombola Bingo and Arcade do. But we do wonder whether this could also be the start of a one platform one account scenario. If Entain can link up Foxy Games and Foxy Bingo then most certainly in the future Gala Spins and Gala Bingo could follow suit. Now if they can link up two brands in this way then there's no reason why they couldn't link up 3, 4 or more. Managing one account per player across multiple brands could be more efficient than multiple player accounts. With The UKGC and UK Government constantly pushing for more stringent gambling laws including affordability tests, then Entain's approach may be seen as the way forward. The "One Account One Wallet One Platform" approach could also help controlling distribution of bonuses, bonuses, free plays etc. It would also stop players logging in on Foxy and Cheeky (for example) and playing a free game that's being shared by both brands under two separate accounts. In addition it'd help with managing self exclusion and other responsible gambling features.

Limited Scope For Other Platforms

For players it makes life easier too because they have just one wallet to manage. You may want to play at X Bingo then decide to head to Y Slots on the same platform but don't want to deposit at Y as you've already topped up at X. If both sites share the same wallet then that problem is solved straightaway. In respect to other platforms it's perhaps not as straightforward an idea. For it to really work we'd suggest that the operator owns the brand as well as the platform - as is the case with Entain. Therefore Gamesys could for example link up the wallets and accounts of Jackpotjoy, Double Bubble and Monopoly Casino. However that kind of thing would be harder to do on Jumpman sites, Bet365, Heart and PlayOJO who all use Pragmatic Play as their plug-in bingo product. Similar we don't think that Broadway Gaming/Dragonfish is geared up to implement a one wallet approach across it's network and it could also potentially confuse players, especially when joining a new site. This is all speculation by the way so it'll be interesting to see how things develop going forward - will we be right or massively wrong - only time will tell.
