Play Diamond Dazzle Bingo - 90 Ball Bingo

Published On 16th January 2024

Back in October we told you that Bet365 Bingo had made the decision to leave Playtech's Virtue Fusion platform and take up residence on Pragmatic Play. Within all the press releases for this move a new game called Diamond Dazzle was mentioned. We speculated what the game would entail and are happily to report we got it completely wrong. Our thoughts were that it'd entail some kind of slots or spins element but that's actually not the case. In fact Diamond Dazzle is a 90 ball game with a twist that for all intents and purposes sounds very much like Deal Or No Deal. This is because at the end of the game the full house winner gets to accept an offer on their diamond or decline it.

Diamond Dazzle Bingo

  • Type Of Game: 90 Ball Bingo
  • Cost: From 5p
  • Open: 24/7
  • Jackpots: Progressive Jackpot
  • Extras: Diamond Dazzle Feature
  • Special Features: It's Very Like Deal Or No Deal

How To Play Diamond Dazzle

The Diamond Dazzle room is fairly standard and comprises a bunch of bingo cards on a glittering pink background. It doesn't dazzle in our opinion but Pragmatic Play seem to be more about the gameplay rather than the design. It's a shame really as Tombola do things so much better than other platforms when it comes to game design. Mind to be fair once the game gets underway it does look decent with the calls and diamond numbers section in play. To play Diamond Dazzle you simply need to purchase your bingo cards - typically 5p to 10p each, then sit back and enjoy the game. It's a 90 ball variant and plays the same with one line, two lines and full house winners. As part of the game there are 24 diamond numbers and each diamond represents a cash amount (in the game we were in the amounts varied from 1p to £5). As the game proceeds any diamond numbers that are called are removed the table. When the full house is reached then the winner is able to take part in the Diamond Dazzle feature.

The Diamond Dazzle Feature

At the start of the game each player is awarded a diamond and if they win the full house then the Diamond Dazzle Feature is activated. The FH winner has the choice of keeping their own diamond - and the prize it's worth - or taking an offer. We're assuming that the value awarded, whether the player keeps the diamond or deals it, is in addition to the full house prize. Unfortunately you don't get to see what happens after the game ends so no one knows whether the winner has had a good deal or not. Anyone with any knowledge of a popular TV show that was hosted on Channel 4 by Noel Edmunds and that subsequently has become a gambling phenomena with bingo and slots titles will instantly see the resembalamce between Diamond Dazzle and Deal Or No Deal. The player starts with a diamond instead of a box, diamonds are removed from the game as numbers are called, and at the end of the game the player has the choice of keeping their diamond or trading it. The only thing Pragmatic Play haven't done is thrown in a telephone call from The Banker as part of proceedings.

Our Verdict

If you'd never heard of Deal Or No Deal and not played any of the bingo versions that are available on either Virtue Fusion or Entain then you'd probably be impressed with Diamond Dazzle's innovation. But it's not innovative and feels like a Zirconia knock off of a crowd favourite. Obviously Pragmatic Play have decided people like the DOND jeopardy element in their bingo games and gone about creating their own, but without wanting (or being able to get) a license to call it Deal Or No Deal Bingo. Is there anything wrong with that? Maybe, maybe not, but it'd be interesting to know whether there is some element of toe treading going on when it comes to Intellectual Property. All that is potentially irrelevant if players don't warm to it. Bet365 Bingo players will be the acid test because they've had to embrace a new platform. This is a bingo variant format they're familiar with but one without the Deal Or No Deal name. Our view is they'd be better off at Buzz playing the original and Pragmatic Play should be looking to develop something unique rather than trying to be the same as Virtue Fusion.
