Houdini Slot Review
Back in 2008, Jackpotjoy launched a brand new slot game that wasn't a TV tie in. Houdini is a 5 reel 25 line slots game and it features the king of escapism - Mr Harry Houdini! This game has stood the test of time because it still remains part of the Jackpotjoy roster. It's now available to play on all formats including mobile.
To play Houdini Slots head on over to Jackpotjoy. You can play for fun (and free) or play for real. Wagering on the slot starts at 1p per line and this can be increased to £8. The minimum wager possible is just a penny but high rollers can opt for £200 a spin. Lines and wagers can be adjusted using the buttons at the left side of the slot.
Bonus Features
The symbols are a mix of Jacks, Kings, Queens and Aces combined with rabbits in top hats, locks, keys and Houdini style bonus symbols. The highest paying symbols is the Houdini wild which offers x10,000 for five of a kind. The Tiki Monkey is the second highest paying symbol at x500 for five of a kind. The game has 3 bonus features - The Great Escape Bonus, Balloon Bonus and Scatter Bonus. In The Great Escape Bonus you have to select boxes - you'll either see 'Win', 'Escape' or 'Collect'. Get the 'Escape' box and you move on to another round - therefore accumulating more bonus money. The Balloon Bonus is similar as it's also a Pick Bonus round. Get the scatter bonus and there's more picking to be done.
Our Verdict
So what would the great Houdini think of this slots game? Would it make him chain himself to his PC or would he want to escape from it all (we had to have some puns in here somewhere!). Overall, it's not a bad game - if you get a bonus symbol or two the crowd release "oohs" and "ahhs" and this helps create a fun atmosphere. The Great Escape Bonus features Houdini's tricks - and aside from wondering about the monkey in a fez (which doesn't really do anything) you'll enjoy playing. The downside was the limited bonus rounds - despite spin after spin we've not been able to try out the Scatter or Balloon Bonus rounds. There's also no progressive jackpot on offer.
