RuPaul will be hitting our screens from the 4th September as the host of Celebrity Lingo. This quiz show has ran during daytime TV hours hosted by Adil Ray but it's getting a celebrity makeover for primetime. The host of UK Drag Race will pit famous faces against each other as they try to fill in the blanks and find the missing words. Amongst the celebs who are expected to appear on the show you'll find Andi Peters, Charlotte Church, Lulu, Claire Balding, H From Steps, Vernon Kay and new parents to be Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton. Lingo is a word game and if you're a fan of Wordle then you'll definitely love watching and playing along. But what has this got to do with bingo? Well the show is sponsored by Mecca Bingo and they have players promotions to celebrate!
Celebrity Lingo Winner Spinner
Spinning wheels are the go to player promotion for everyone these days and it's no surprise that Mecca Bingo have opted for one again. The wheel comprises of 10 blue, green and yellow segments which feature 'Cash' and 'Bingo' on them. Simply login and spin the wheel to discover the prize that you've been awarded. Cash prizes range from 15p to £500 whilst the bingo bonuses range from 10p to £1. No wagering terms apply to either and no deposit is required to play. In addition to the daily spins there's also a £1000 free bingo session every Sunday. Crack the code (it's pretty easy) and enter that in the bonus area to qualify for the game. Celebrity Lingo Double Spinner
Where there's a free winner spinner there's a premium version not too far behind. At Mecca Bingo you'll find the Celebrity Lingo Double Spinner. To qualify for a daily spin, players need to deposit and spend £10 in cash the previous day. So for example if you wager £10 today (1st September) then you'll get a free spin on the double spinner on the 2nd. The double spinner comprises two wheels - a six segment outer wheel with spins, bingo and cash on the segments plus an inner wheel which comprises of multipliers with ranges of x1 to x100. Spin the wheel to determine your prize plus a multiplier to boost the win. As with the freemium wheel there's a prize every time. The cash prizes range from £1 to £1000, bingo bonuses can be between £1 and £2 whilst you could also pick up 10 to 20 free spins at 10p, 20p or 25p for slots such as Reel King Mega, Starburst, Cash Melon, and Fishing Frenzy Jackpot King. Strangely the bingo bonus for this wheel comes with a x1 wagering term whilst there's none on the free wheel. As well as the two winner spinners, Mecca Bingo are celebrating their sponsorship of Celebrity Lingo with 30 Days and 30 Deals. According to the promotions page Mecca will be "giving away free spins for great games, fun Mecca Merchandise, Free bingo sessions, bonuses and more..". All you need to do is visit Mecca each day in order to reveal what's on offer. For example for the 1st September there's a £5000 free bingo session taking place between 7pm and 8pm. To qualify for this session, players need to stake £2 cash on any bingo game between 12am and 6:45pm on Monday 1st September. Unfortunately we can't tell you about any other deals that may be on the horizon. Mecca have been very canny and not revealed what's on offer in their terms (as some bingo sites often do). As well as these deals look out for Mecca TV every Friday from 8pm to 10pm. The hosts will play games such as ‘Guess the Bingo Lingo’ and ‘Mecca Word’, in celebration of the sponsorship with ITV's Celebrity Lingo! There's up to £500 up for grabs so it's well worth dropping in for this.
Will There Be A Lingo Bingo Game?
Mecca Bingo do have a couple of TV themed bingo games - namely X Factor and Britain's Got Talent - but could they soon be adding a Lingo themed variant to their roster? As Lingo is a word game then why not have a bingo variant that uses letters instead of numbers? We think that perhaps a version of Lingo Bingo could involve a 90 ball base game but 5 numbers on the card represent a letter which if called complete a word. The first player to complete the word wins a prize! Alternatively you could have a community phrase and random letters could be called during game play that add to complete the puzzle - a bit like how Rainbow Riches works. What we would like to see is a complete bingo game that utilises letters instead of numbers but we're not quite sure how that would work because it'd be quite hard to have enough words and a mix of 'numbers' for it to function. Still, there's an idea in there somewhere and we'd love to see something come to fruition.
