Quizingo Combines Quizzing & Bingo

In December 2020 a new Dragonfish brand was launched that aimed to combine quizzing with bingo. Called Quizingo it offers players access to multiple 75 and 90 ball bingo games, top slots and the chance to win with online quizzing. In our view this brand hasn't made as much of an impact as we'd have expected although to be fair they did launch at a very inopportune time. Nearly two years on and it looks like Quizingo are aiming to kick off their fortunes again with a new promotional push. They've updated the quiz master on the site and also used him in what we expect is a brand new TV advert care of Double Dice films. What makes this particular campaign even more intriguing is that it's the first for a Dragonfish brand since the Broadway Gaming takeover.
It's More Than Just Bingo
The above film features the Quizingo quizmaster asking if you like a little quizzing and love a bit of bingo. If you do then you can have the best of both worlds at Quizingo. The guy, dressed in a very natty black shirt, pink suit and matching bow tie (bow ties are cool) plus mortarboard - to gibve that educational look - then goes on to say there are daily quizzes on topics such as film, music, trivia, bingo and general knowledge. There are also bingo games, slots and a monthly big bingo quiz night. The clip concludes that now everyone knows about Quizingo then everyone will be visiting the site because it's more than bingo - it's quizingo. The guy in the advert is the same one that now features on the website. At this time we don't know who the actor is who's involved in the ad but we'll do our best to find out.
The Monthly Quiz
So Quizingo's strapline is that it's more than just bingo, but is it really more than just bingo? When it launched back in 2020 it promised many things including regular quizzes. These actually didn't materialise but there is a monthly game that occurs every Monday at around 8pm. It's a 90 ball bingo game that costs 5p a ticket to play. At time of writing (August 2022) there's a £150 jackpot but just one player so far signed up. However it is relatively early days and there's still three weeks to go before eyes down. One thing that is worth noting is that this specific game is now exclusive to Quizingo. Login to the likes of Katie's Bingo or Zoe's Bingo and you'll find 'The Bingo Quiz' room accessible from their respective lobbies. This doesn't make much difference to what's on offer but it does seem odd to big up a site about quizzing when it's games aren't exclusive and available on non-quiz orientated sister sites.
Quiz Of The Day
There does seem to be an exclusive bingo room at Quizingo and it's their Quiz Of The Day room. According to the website they will be "quizzing away in the exclusive bingo room every day from 6pm - 8pm". All kinds of quizzes will take place alongside bingo games. At time of writing the number of players ready to get involved was sadly zero. Hopefully in time that will build especially once everyone finds out about Quizingo. Now we love new bingo brands and we like things that are different but we're not quite sure about Quizingo. The idea of trivia quizzes and gambling isn't new and Betfred, Bet635, Ladbrokes, Coral and many others have implemented free to play live casino quiz games as part of their promotions in recent times. Players are incentivised to play these games with the chance to win cash prizes. We're wondering why people interested in quizzing would consider Quizingo when as far as we can tell there's not much incentive to join and mix bingo with a test of general knowledge. The prizes are for paying and playing bingo! And whilst we anticipate there may be some token bonuses offered to winners - that's not exactly a trivia quiz - it's basically a bingo chat game. And bingo chat games are available on many of the big brands already!
Is A Revamp/Relaunch Enough?
Quizingo has been online for 18 months and not exactly rocked the bingo world. Revamping and relaunching is fine but from an initial viewpoint they've not made great improvements to what is available to players. A couple of hours of bingo games with some quiz questions on the side just doesn't cut it. Of course there may be more to come but why haven't they implemented some actual quiz games along the lines of the old Uproar site. With them you could play daily for free, earn points and be involved in a prize draw. We guess that perhaps longer term Quizingo may develop into offering live casino trivia style games on a regular basis but in our view they need that now. As mentioned at the top this is the first Dragonfish brand to look at promotions since the Broadway Gaming takeover. On one hand that's great but on the other it tells us that not a lot is going to be happening immediately on the platform. And that's a shame because if there's one platform that needs new life is Dragonfish. It'll be interesting to see just how Quizingo performs over the coming weeks and months. Will it's best of both worlds offering work or do they need to do more to attract players.
