Tombola have launched another brand new bingo game. In a surprise move they've added Winter Spotlight to the roster - the brand's first real money, limited time only, seasonal game. Winter Spotlight doesn't exactly sound like a bingo game but it is. In fact it's a 45 ball game that offers you the chance to win jackpots up to £1000 (depending upon your stake). What makes this new game different from other bingo games is that it's played on a jigsaw puzzle and features some very cool winter animations.

How To Play Winter Spotlight
As we've come to expect with Tombola, Winter Spotlight is yet another stunning and stylish looking game. The opening screen features an alpine mountain scene with snow falling and a quite bouncy guitar led soundtrack. The game is multi stake which means you can choose to play 10p, 25p, 50p, £1 or £2 but be involved in the same round as your fellow roomies. The amount you decide to wager will influence the amount that you can win should you be lucky. When the game starts you discover that your bingo board is in fact a jigsaw puzzle. The puzzle contains 15 pieces and at the start depict a grey winter scene. Numbers are called like any other bingo game, but as you mark off pieces on the jigsaw then a fun, animated scene is revealed.
Winter Spotlight Prizes
There are two base game prizes available during Winter Spotlight. An initial prize is awarded to the first player(s) who mark off the four corner pieces of the puzzle. The full house prize is then awarded to the first player(s) who reveal all 15 pieces of the puzzle. When a winner is called it's done so with a pretty cool snowball animation. The prize amounts vary from game to game and depend upon the number of players. As well as these two prizes, Winter Spotlight also has it's own jackpot. This jackpot can be won if all 15 jigsaw pieces are matched within 28 calls. The jackpot amount will vary depending on the price you have paid to play. For example it's £1000 if you play a £2 stake but the jackpot drops to £50 if you choose to play a 10p stake.
Easter Eggs
When we first read about Winter Spotlight we noted that the product manager highlighted the game's "interactive background which is full of secret easter eggs". We took a closer look and discovered that by clicking the scene after a piece had been removed then different things happen. For example birds fly out of a tree, an avalanche starts, the snow falls of the house and you can make sounds with the cable cars and signpost. Apparently the skier who traverses through the scene can be made to fallover if you knock down the tree but we've not been able to replicate that particular easter egg. All in all it adds a bit of fun to proceedings and helps keep the roomies in chat happy!
Our Verdict
It's another winner from Tombola and it's no wonder the folks over at Flutter have scooped up the company. Other platforms just don't come close to the quality or innovation that streams out of Tombola. There's a lot to like about the game away from the design and interactive easter egg features. Whilst many roomies were complaining about not winning it was noticeable that the jackpots were quite prevalent. The downside is popularity, like with all new Tombola games. Over 1000 players were online when we dropped in to play. This may drop in the coming weeks but don't leave it too late as this is a seasonal game with a limited time span. Hopefully Tombola have other games for different seasons to replace Winter Spotlight as this puzzle bingo game deserves a longer run.
