32Red Close Their Bingo Channel

Published On 29th October 2020

Earlier this year Microgaming announced that they were pulling out of the bingo market. This meant that sites such as Butlers Bingo, 32Red Bingo and Dream Bingo would be left - at some time in the future - without rooms to offer players. Well that time has arrived! As we revealed last week Butlers Bingo and it's Broadway Gaming counterparts are switching to the Pragmatic Play platform. However what about other 32Red and Dream? Are they going to be moving to alternatives such as Pragmatic Play as well?

News has reached us about 32Red Bingo and sadly it's closing it's doors for good. There will be no more bingo games at 32Red for the forseeable future. If you visit 32Red Bingo then you'll find the following message: "All good things must come to an end! On 28th October 2020, the last winning ball at 32Red Bingo was drawn. We no longer offer bingo at 32Red". Players can still use their account to play slots and Slingo. However if you still prefer to play traditional bingo then Unibet Bingo - a sister brand - is a suggested alternative.

Dream Bingo Drops Bingo Too

In many respects this isn't a surprise move. When Microgaming decided to close their poker product 32Red did the same thing and completely dropped the channel. However we did wonder whether 32Red would follow Unibet and Bingo.com and switch to the Relax Gaming bingo product. In many respects this would make sense and would expand the network and games such as Hexabingo to a wider range of players. Another surprise is that the suggested alternative is Unibet Bingo and not Bingo.com!

So that's 32Red but what about Dream Bingo? Well the news there isn't great for bingo players either because they've shut their rooms too. We don't know whether an alternative, such as Pragmatic Play, will be implemented at some time in the future but a bingo brand with no bingo isn't the best idea. Even more so when that brand boasts that it was "created by bingo lovers for bingo lovers, our number one priority is your satisfaction". Visitors to the site can still enjoy slots and live casino games but we're pretty sure there are better alternatives to this brand if that's what you like to play.

No Big Loss

The closure of the Microgaming Network in our view is no big loss to the bingo world. It would have been sad had Broadway Gaming decided to not more to Pragmatic Play resulting in the loss of brands like Rosy and Butlers. However the departure of Dream - at least for now - is not something we will mourn. This was a brand that offered so much, had multiple makeovers, advertised on TV and gave away some fabulous prizes. However it also shafted affiliates left right and centre and for that reason alone we're not sad to see it go.

We are a little disappointed by the departure of 32Red Bingo especially as it could easily have integrated the Relax Gaming product. However more importantly it's departure signals the end of the no deposit bonus in bingo. 32Red was in fact the last site that actually offered a £5 no deposit bonus to players. Of course you can still get no deposit welcome offers but these are spins, tickets or newbie rooms.
